Endy Rodriguez perfect at plate Monday

by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Tue, Jun 16th 6:49am EDT

Endy Rodriguez went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk on Monday during the Pirates' 11-2 loss to the Athletics.

Fantasy Impact:

Rodriguez had a pair of singles and a walk before launching his third home run of the season in the eighth inning of Monday's loss. The Pirates have an interesting decision to make with Joey Bart (foot) nearing his return as they are unlikely to carry three catchers on the active roster. On one hand, Rodriguez is slashing .268/.423/.482 with three home runs, seven RBI, and a 16:15 K:BB ratio in 22 games played. On the other hand, Henry Davis is slashing .135/.236/.278 with five homers, 17 RBI, and a 31:14 K:BB ratio in 46 contests. He is hitting .103 (9-for-87) over the last month. Rodriguez certainly helped his chances on Monday, but stay tuned.
