Michael Lorenzen tosses second straight solid outing Monday

by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Tue, Jun 16th 12:15am EDT

Michael Lorenzen settled for a no-decision on Monday despite limiting the Cubs to one run on five hits over five innings. He walked one and struck out five.

Fantasy Impact:

Lorenzen has now posted back-to-back strong outings - both against the Cubs - after a disastrous start to his season. He did allow a home run to Pete Crow-Armstrong in the bottom of the first, but otherwise it was another solid start from the veteran righthander. Over his last two outings, Lorenzen has allowed two runs on seven hits with a 12:3 K:BB ratio in 10 innings - lowering his season ERA from 8.01 to 7.13 in the process. He has, however, not won a game since April 24 against the Mets and has gone 0-6 with three no-decisions in his last nine starts. Still, Lorenzen's last two outings are a step in the right direction and he'll look to continue his turnaround on Sunday against the Pirates at Coors Field.
