Troy Melton earns win over White Sox Saturday

by Brenton Kemp | Tigers Correspondent | Sun, Jun 21st 11:21am EDT

Tigers right-hander Troy Melton pitched six innings of one-run ball while earning the win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

Melton's day got off to an inauspicious start on Saturday as Sam Antonacci took him deep on just the second pitch of the game. As it turns out, that homer would be the only hit Melton allowed in his six innings of work, which also included three walks and five strikeouts as he improved to 4-0 on the season. The right-hander sports a tidy 2.56 ERA through five starts on the season, but his lackluster 19:9 K:BB in 31 2/3 innings has him sitting with a 4.74 xFIP and a 4.84 SIERA, suggesting some regression could be had moving forward.
