Bryce Miller allowed three runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings with 11 strikeouts in a loss on Thursday against the Pirates.

Miller allowed a pair of home runs for the three runs he allowed. The Mariners offense scored three runs or less for the 11th straight game so as soon as he allowed those three runs, it was an uphill battle for Seattle to win the game. Miller did his job with 11 strikeouts and pitching into the sixth inning. He'll carry a strong 1.97 ERA into his next start against the Angels.
