Andrew Abbott allowed three earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out six over 5 1/3 innings in Friday's win over the Pirates.

Abbott has offered mixed results on the mound of late, allowing three earned runs or more in four of his last eight trips to the mound. The left-hander remains one of the more stable starting options in the Reds rotation for manager Terry Francona while fighting inconsistent command, carrying a 3.90 ERA and 1.41 WHIP with a 5-4 record and 1.8 K/BB ratio through 17 starts.
