Emilio Pagan allows run, earns save over Orioles Sunday

Reds right-hander Emilio Pagan allowed one earned run in one inning of work while picking up the save in a 3-2 win over the Orioles on Sunday.

Pagan issued a pair of walks and allowed a single to load the bases with just one out in the ninth. He surrendered a sacrifice fly to Gunnar Henderson before an Adley Rutschman line drive was hauled in by TJ Friedl in center field to end the game. It was a bump frame, but Pagan earned his seventh save of the season, and his first since returning from the injured list on Friday. The 35-year-old ports a 6.46 ERA in 17 outings this season, but manager Terry Francona said Pagan has the ninth inning for the time being.
