The San Diego Padres selected the contract of Luis Rengifo on Wednesday. (San Diego Padres on X)

Rengifo was signed to a minor league contract by the Padres on June 29th, and he will now join the big-league club. The 29-year-old hit .205 with an OPS of .534 in 185 at-bats with the Brewers earlier this season.
