Kazuma Okamoto hammers grand slam in win over Giants Wednesday

by Brenton Kemp | Blue Jays Correspondent | Thu, Jul 9th 12:24pm EDT

Blue Jays third baseman Kazuma Okamoto went 2-for-5 with a grand slam and an additional run scored in a 10-0 win over the Giants on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Okamoto broke this one open early on Wednesday, as he belted a first-inning grand slam off Giants ace Logan Webb to make it a 5-0 Blue Jays lead at the time. The blast was particularly key as Webb didn't allow another run over the final six innings of his outing. The blast was Okamoto's 21st of the season, by far a team-high, and most for an American League rookie at this point. He has slashed .237/.314/.462 with 21 homers, 48 runs, and 59 RBI across 90 games this season.
