Rymer Liriano off to good start in battle for starting centerfield spot

by Brad Richter | Tue, Mar 8th 12:06pm EST

Liriano is off to a good start in Spring Training going 3-for-7 with a 1.413 OPS through the first four games. The 24-year-old Liriano was acquired by the Brewers in January after being designated for assignment by the Padres. (Tom Haudricourt on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Liriano was considered a good prospect in the past so he could flourish with the Brewers if he can earn playing time in Spring Training. Liriano is battling outfielders such as Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Eric Young Jr. and Keon Broxton for regular season at-bats in centerfield. In 131 games at Triple-A last season, Liriano hit .292 with 14 home runs, 64 RBI and 18 stolen bases. Liriano is a name to keep on your radar this spring, especially in deeper mixed leagues and NL-only leagues.
