Derek Holland goes six scoreless against the Indians on Wednesday

Through two starts and 12 innings pitched thus far, Derek Holland has compiled a 1-1 mark with a 1.50 ERA on the season. As an Ohio native, Holland has lowered his career ERA in Progressive Field to 1.02, the lowest of any visiting pitcher with at least 30 innings.

Fantasy Impact

Holland is the fifth man on an average at best rotation, so put him on your watch list to see if he stays hot - but as of now Holland is likely not worth anything beyond a speculative add.

White Sox sign Derek Holland

The Chicago White Sox have signed former Texas Ranger Derek Holland to a one-year, $6 million deal.

Fantasy Impact

Though both are lefties, Holland's signing in no way replaces the departure of ace Chris Sale who was traded to the Boston Red Sox. Holland was healthy for the first time in three years in 2016, but struggled with consistency, posting a 7-9 record and a 4.95 ERA.

Derek Holland struggles in loss to Halos

Derek Holland was unable to give the Rangers a quality start for the third straight time, as he was shelled for six hits and five runs over five innings in the Rangers 5-4 loss to the Angels. Holland, now 7-9, walked two and struck out three. His big mistake came in the fifth when he surrendered a three-run homer to Mike Trout.

Fantasy Impact

Manager Jeff Bannister should be very concerned about his starting rotation with the playoffs on the horizon. Over the last six games, only Martin Perez has shown any sort of effectiveness. Holland, who was very solid over his first three starts coming off the disabled list has been miserable over his last three outings, giving up 23 hits and 14 runs in 14. 2 innings.

Derek Holland beat up by Mariners

After three straight impressive starts coming off the disabled list, Derek Holland hit a bump in the road in Seattle Thursday. The southpaw allowed 10 hits and four runs in just 4.1 innings of work. Holland walked three and struck out five.

Fantasy Impact

A tough matchup for the lefty proved too difficult. Holland held the Mariners to just one run over the first three innings, but fell apart in the fourth as the men from Seattle plated three runs. Holland is still in the running for a spot in the playoff rotation and manager Jeff Bannister will have his choice of six starters with the return of Colby Lewis this weekend.

Derek Holland wins his third straight

Derek Holland won his third straight decision since coming off the disabled list, limiting Houston to six hits and two runs over six innings in the Rangers 12-4 victory Saturday. Holland walked three and struck out a pair to improve his record to 7-6.

Fantasy Impact

Holland is making a strong case to be the Rangers No. 3 starter come playoff time behind Cole Hamels and Yu Darvish. This is his third straight quality outing since coming off the DL.
