This obviously means that Mercado did not make the team's Opening Day roster. This means the Indians are going to roll with Bradley Zimmer, Jordan Luplow, and the recently converted Amed Rosario in center field. Mercado will likely get called up at some point during the season but he really scuffled in 2020 with a .128/.174/.174 slash line over 86 at-bats.
