Triston Casas and the Boston Red Sox avoided arbitration by agreeing to a reported $1.61 million contract in 2026. (Source: Chris Cotillo on X)

Fantasy Impact: Casas struggled last season with the Red Sox, batting just .182 with three home runs in 112 plate appearances before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Casas finished third in AL Rookie of the Year voting in 2023 after hitting .263 with 24 home runs. He's hoping to be ready for spring training, but the acquisition of Willson Contreras is a big hit to his path to playing time in Boston. He does have options remaining, so he could potentially start the season in Triple-A Worcester.

Romy Gonzalez and the Boston Red Sox avoided arbitration and agreed to a contract worth a reported $1.6 million in 2026. (Source: Boston Red Sox on X)

Fantasy Impact: Gonzalez made the most of a platoon role with the Red Sox in 2025 and set career-highs in nearly every offensive category. He batted .305 with nine home runs and 53 RBI in 96 games while splitting time between first and second base. He is a career .269 hitter with 20 home runs in parts of five seasons with the White Sox and Red Sox. Gonzalez could have the inside track as being the full-time second baseman for Boston in 2026, which could make him a fantasy sleeper at the position if he can duplicate what he did last season over a complete year.
