Expert Note
View More NotesJudge missed about half of the regular season last year with a calf strain, though he still hit for plenty of power when he was in the lineup. He walked and struck out a bit less than usual, but trying to glean anything from a 28-game sample, given Judge's history, is silly. When he's in the lineup, you know you'll get a ton of power and runs scored with a passable average. The key is "when he's in the lineup," however, as injuries have forced Judge to miss significant time over the last three seasons. So long as you factor that into your draft price and select him as an OF2, you'll be happy with the production.

Bryan Hoch of MLB.com writes the Yankees are taking a "wait-and-see" approach when it comes to a possible extension with franchise player Aaron Judge.
Fantasy Impact
"I imagine that they will find common ground, but Judge's health over the next two years -- as well as the unsettled nature of baseball's Collective Bargaining Agreement -- could play significant roles in determining how much the Yankees are willing to commit," Hoch writes. His health is obviously the biggest concern as Judge has appeared in just 63% of the Yankees' games from 2018-20. The outfielder has a new offseason workout program that heavily involves yoga, and this is designed to help with his constant muscle strains. Judge's health risk is baked into his current ADP in fantasy leagues, and he could wind up severely out-producing his draft-day cost should he remain healthy.
