Dorian Finney-Smith posts solid line in start against Warriors

by Brian Ott | Nets Correspondent | Sun, Nov 18th 12:17pm EST

Dorian Finney-Smith got the start for the injured Wes Matthews (hamstring) during Saturday night's win over the Warriors and scored 13 points, collected five rebounds, handed out three assists and swiped two steals in a game-high 40 minutes.

Fantasy Impact:

Finney-Smith opened the season as a starter for the injured Harrison Barnes, but was moved back to the bench when Barnes returned. However, his versatility allowed him to step into the starting lineup again with Wes Matthews out. Starting or coming off the bench has appeared to have little impact on DFS as he has played at least 22 minutes in all but four games this season. Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle clearly trusts Finney-Smith and routinely has him running with the starters. For fantasy purposes DFS is a bit of a swiss army knife averaging 9.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 blocks. He has the occasional big game, but with his modest overall numbers is probably best utilized as a streaming option.
