LeBron James blames 'off court' issues for Lakers' struggles

by Brett Tomlinson | Lakers Correspondent | Fri, Aug 7th 9:37am EDT

LeBron James talked to reporters after the Lakers' 97-113 loss to the Houston Rockets, to tell them that there is 'something going on' with the team. James told reporters that the issues were off the court. He also stated that those issues were out of his control and that he'd 'rather not discuss' them. (Joe Vardon on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

The Lakers have looked sluggish during the NBA restart losing four of their first five games. James is hinting at some off the court issues, but was not going to get into specifics. This could be a more serious issue than normal as off court issues could refer to players leaving the bubble. If that were the case, then those players would have to quarantine and would miss games. James has a history of being a little too open with reporters and he could be using this to scare his teammates into playing smarter. If the Lakers can get back to winning, all of these 'off court' issues will surely disappear, until then don't be surprised if James continues to mention some ongoing issues with the Lakers team.
