Giannis Antetokounmpo to sign five-year supermax with Milwaukee

by Alex Burns | Bucks Correspondent | Tue, Dec 15th 1:25pm EST

Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo says he will sign a five-year, $228 million supermax contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks, making it the largest deal in NBA history. (Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Shams Charania of The Athletic was the first to break the news on Twitter, but Giannis all but confirmed the report with a series of tweets from his personal account. Bucks' fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as Giannis' only had six days remaining until the December 21st deadline to sign. Now tied to Milwaukee through the 2026 season, Giannis will now look to bring a championship to the city that selected him with the 15th overall pick back in 2013. The reigning two-time MVP should be a top-two selection in points leagues heading into fantasy drafts, though he does lose a bit of his value in category leagues due to his poor free throw shooting and lack of a three-point game.
