Fantasy Impact:
It’s a massive swing by Cleveland to get on the aging Harden. Garland was a full 10 years his junior, but his injuries have hampered Cleveland at times. Now, he’s not missed as much time as you might think, or at least not a totally abnormal amount of time, but a big factor in this deal has to be Harden’s availability, especially this season. One has to wonder if this move truly lifts Cleveland’s ceiling in the playoffs given Harden’s postseason history. As for fantasy purposes, he should slot right in as a primary ball handler next to Donovan Mitchell and help run the offense. His shot volume may come down, but he should remain a high end asset.
