Trevor Davis will have difficult time making Packers' roster

by Jody Smith | Fri, Jun 15th 8:13pm EDT

Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel thinks that the only way third-year wide receiver Trevor Davis can make Green Bay's 53-man roster is if he wins both the kick and punt return jobs in training camp. Davis was held out of OTAs and minicamp practices for medical reasons, which gave other players a chance to earn return opportunities. (Green Bay Press Gazette)

Fantasy Impact:

Davis is excellent on special-teams and ranked among the NFL's top punt returners in 2017, but has caught just eight passes in two pro seasons. The Packers also added J'Mon Moore, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Equanimeous St. Brown in the 2018 NFL Draft to make it even more difficult to justify keeping a player, like Davis, who is merely a return specialist and doesn't contribute to the offense. Even if he makes the Packers, Davis has no fantasy value outside of return yardage leagues.
