Rashaad Penny shows improvements as pass blocker

Even though OTAs and minicamp practices don't involve full pads, head coach Pete Carroll thinks that first-round rookie running back Rashaad Penny showed enough improvement as a pass blocker that the team feels comfortable using the No. 27 pick in any situation, including third downs. “We don’t have any hesitation that he is going to be fine in that area,’’ said Carroll. Fantasy Impact:

The same article also says that Chris Carson, who has looked much improved, would be the starter if the season began today. Smart teams don't use first-round picks on running backs to put them in timeshares, so expect Penny to emerge from the preseason with a significant role for the Seahawks. Penny is firmly a top-3 rookie pick and on the RB2 radar in redraft leagues.
