The Seahawks have decided to throw in the towel on contract negations with pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney and are interested in two veterans to fill the gap: Matthews and Everson Griffen. Matthews has spent 11 years in the league, 10 with the Packers and one season with the Rams. His days as an elite pass-rusher are behind him, but his veteran leadership would fit in well with the Seahawks as they're in win-now mode. He was able to garner eight sacks last season, his most since 2014.
