Austin Ekeler, who has yet to practice since suffering an ankle injury in Week 1, is not expected to return to practice on Friday, making a Week 3 return to game action unlikely. (Jeremy Fowler on Twitter)
Ekeler has not logged any practice time since the injury, but the team did not place him on the IR, indicating he should be able to return sooner rather than later. The fantasy standout had gone two straight years without missing a game due to injury, only missing one game in 2021 due to Covid, but is now in danger of missing his second consecutive start. In relief of Ekeler, Josh Kelly would be slated to get another start and profile as a great streaming option against a Vikings defense that was shredded in Week 2 for over 200 rushing yards.
