Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) 'not close to being game-ready'

Aaron Rodgers is reportedly "not close to being game-ready" but that could change next week when he plans to ramp up what he is doing in practice. (Rich Cimini on Twitter)

Rodgers told reporters he "badly" wants to play again this year and is targeting a return by the Jets' December 24th game against Washington. The Jets are 4-7 so it still seems unlikely we see Rodgers on the field again this year unless they go on a run these next few weeks. Rodgers also acknowledged the possibility of re-injuring his Achilles if he returns too soon. “My thing is, what’s the worst that can happen? Something unfortunate again and then you just slow the rehab down.”
