Trevon Diggs could open season on 53-man roster

Diggs underwent surgery to repair an injury to the leg that had suffered an ACL tear the season before, missing the final month of the 2024-25 season. The Cowboys' front office had a public disagreement with how Diggs handled the rehab process, docking his pay for failure to meet the team's standards for injury recovery. If he starts the season on the 53-man roster, it does not necessarily mean he will start in Week 1, but it does set the stage for him to be a starter sooner rather than later.
