Devonta Freeman finishes 2015 with another solid performance

by Justin Dade | Sun, Jan 3rd 5:32pm EST

Devonta Freeman had a very solid day in the Falcons' loss to the Saints carrying the ball 24 times for 81 yards. He also added two catches for 18 yards and a touchdown, but lost a costly fumble in the red zone late in the game. Freeman actually had a decent amount of success running the ball throughout the game, but had a few carries that went for a loss due to poor blocking resulting in a low average yards per carry total. Freeman's touchdown came through the air in the red zone from four yards out beating safety Jairus Byrd to the pylon.

Fantasy Impact:

Devonta Freeman surprised everyone this season with a dominant year in the zone blocking scheme under new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. Freeman will enter his third NFL season next year after an impressive 2015 season finishing with 1,639 combined yards and 14 total touchdowns. Freeman should be among the first running backs taken in most fantasy drafts come next year.
