Pyotr Kochetkov allowed three goals on 23 shots in Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Devils.

The Canes could not manage to beat Vitek Vanecek in this one despite throwing everything they had at him. This lead to a quiet night for Kochetkov, and he let in three goals that he will probably want back. He was not at his best, and it comes at an unfortunate time as he truly needed to force the Canes' hand if he wanted a shot at staying on the main roster. His shutout the other night was impressive, but nights like this will erase any progress a young goaltender has made. It remains to be seen what the Canes will do when Antti Raanta is healthy, but monitor this situation closely for now. Kochetkov fell to 11-5-5 with a 2.25 GAA and a .915 SV%.
