Nikolaj Ehlers assisted on Blake Wheelers second period goal to make it 2-1 for the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night.

Fantasy Impact: The assist brings Ehlers up to 24 points through 31 games played. The Danish winger is having a great season so far, and looks poised to continue that success as his chemistry builds with Blake Wheeler and Jack Roslovic on the Jets second line.

Neal Pionk picked up an assist on Mark Scheifele's third period powerplay goal to make it 5-1 for the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night.

Fantasy Impact: Pionk has been a pleasant surprise for the Jets after coming over from the New York Rangers in a trade that sent Jacob Trouba the other way. Pionk has 16 points through 31 games played and finds himself on the Jets potent top powerplay unit.

Mark Scheifele scored his team leading 14th goal of the season on Tuesday when the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Detroit Red Wings 5-1. The goal game in the third period on the powerplay.

Fantasy Impact: Mark Scheifele now has 14 goals and 16 assists for 30 points through 31 games played. Look for his success continue as the chemistry continues to grow between Scheifele, Connor and Laine on the Jets top line.

Despite the score reading 5-1 in favor of the Winnipeg Jets, Laurent Brossoit actually made 15 saves on all 15 shots that he faced. Brossoit had to leave the game for 69 seconds of game play due to an equipment issue. Unfortunately for both Brossoit and Connor Hellebuyck who came in for that short period of time, the Red Wings were able to get one by Hellebuyck. The goal on Hellebuyck meant that Brossoit would not get credit for a shutout.

Fantasy Impact: Laurent Brossoit has been solid when called upon for the Winnipeg Jets. Look for him to get starts when the team finds themselves in back to back situations, or when Connor Hellebuyck simply needs a break. With the way the Winnipeg Jets are playing right now, Brossoit can be a useful spot start for your team when he gets in the net.

Patrik Laine scored his 9th goal of the season on Tuesday night when the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Detroit Red Wings 5-1.

Fantasy Impact: Up next for Patrik Laine and the Jets is another game against the lowly Red Wings, this time in Detroit on Thursday night. Laine and his team should be poised for another strong night offensively.

Bryan Little was placed on IR this morning after a scary incident on Tuesday against the New Jersey Devils. Little took an errant puck to the side of the head which led to him leaving the game and getting 25-30 stitches. Little was also transported to a local hospital for neurological evaluation. It is expected that Little will be released from hospital today and will make a full recovery. At this time there is no timeline for his return to hockey related activities. (Source: Ken Wiebe on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Bryan Little has had his share of bad luck to open the 2019-20 season. He opened the season on the IR after taking a hit to the head in the final preseason game which saw him miss the opening 9 games. Little has since played 7 games but he will now miss at least a week of action, maybe more.

Ville Heinola converted on a one-timer for his first NHL goal in the Winnipeg Jets 4-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night. Heinola finished the game with 1 goal, a +3 rating, 2 PIMS and 1 SOG in 17:23 of ice time.

Fantasy Impact: Ville Heinola has certainly been a pleasant surprise to open the Winnnipeg Jets 2019-20 season. The eighteen-year old is making the most of his opportunities thus far. He has 3 points in 4 games played. It's a little early to buy into the Heinola hype for fantasy purposes in re-draft leagues as we are not even sure if he will stay with the Jets for the whole season, however if you play in a dynasty or keeper league now would be a good time to grab him and stash him on your bench. If he stays up with the Jets past the 9 game mark of the season and continues to impress, his role will continue to grow as will his production. The Jets are incredibly thin on their blueline, so the path for Heinola to be fantasy relevant is certainly there.

Dustin Byfuglien is currently away from the Winnipeg Jets training camp and is reportedly pondering his future in the NHL. There is no timeline for a decision, though it sounds like the Jets will give him all the time he needs to figure it out. (Source: Bob McKenzie on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Losing Byfuglien on the Winnipeg Jets blueline would be a catastrophic loss for the team, especially after seeing Jacob Trouba traded to the New York Rangers in the offseason. In addition to losing Trouba, the Jets also lost Tyler Myers and Ben Chiarot via free agency. If Byfuglien does decide to retire, move Josh Morrissey way up your defense rankings as he would likely quarterback the Jets top powerplay unit.

An independent arbitrator has awarded Andrew Copp a two-year contract extension, with an annual value of $2.28 million. (Source: Sportsnet )

Fantasy Impact: Copp had a career-high 11 goals last season, to go along with 25 points, in only 69 games. He would have easily topped his career-high in points as well, 28 points in 2017-18, had he not missed time on two separate occasions last season. Copp has become an important player for the Jets, but ultimately offers little in fantasy. He will need to move out of his current bottom-six role if he is going to have any impact in fantasy.

Fantasy Impact: Tanev provided his first point of the post-season with his goal scored during Sunday's 6-3 win in Game Three.

Jacob Trouba scored the only Jets goal in their 5-1 loss to the Wild. He had one goal, one SHG and three SOG in 19:08 of ice-time.

Fantasy Impact: Trouba's shorty was nice to see in an otherwise feeble effort by the Jets. It being the second of a back-to-back they deserve a little bit of a leash. The Jets are tied for first and own the tiebreaker so look for a better effort next time out against the Avalanche.
