Fantasy Impact: Sebastian Aho has 20 points in his 34 AHL games this season and will be part of the Islanders defense for the foreseeable future. However, until he can prove he belongs to be in the Islanders lineup consistently there is no need for him to be on a fantasy roster.

Fantasy Impact: It is safe to assume that Seabrook has suited up for the last time. Although he is a warrior and will try his best to come back hip surgeries are death sentences for NHLer's especially in their mid 30's.

Fantasy Impact: With four goals and 13 assists through 27 games, as well as zero points and only two shots in his last three games, Johansen is only a recommended start in deep leagues, though he can provide some matchup-based production for shallower leagues. The NHL and NHLPA provided a joint media release on Wednesday morning announcing that Bobby Ryan will be taking part in the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program. As a result, he will be away from the team for an undetermined period of time. (Source: Hailey Salvian on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: The player assistance program was implemented in order for NHL players to have access to receive assistance if they are dealing with personal hardships such as addiction or mental health issues. Hopefully Ryan receives the help he needs and will be back on the ice soon. Until then, the Senators will be without the thirteen-year veteran that had contributed four points in 16 games so far this season.

An MRI on Sunday revealed that Mitch Marner sustained a high ankle sprain and will be out of action for at least four weeks. The winger was seen on Tuesday with a walking boot on his right leg. (Source: TSN)
Fantasy Impact: Marner made comments on his injury at Maple Leafs practice on Tuesday, stating that “when I fell, I felt a snap in my ankle. I was kind of expecting when I looked back for my ankle to kind of be facing the wrong direction.” Given that description, it certainly appears fortunate that the injury wasn't worse, but this is still a big loss for the Maple Leafs and fantasy owners alike. Marner was cruising prior to going down, averaging a point-per-game through 18 contests (four goals, 14 assists) and averaging the second-most ice-time among Toronto forwards (19:40). Kasperi Kapanen was seen skating in Marner's place in practice and Nic Petan was recalled from the AHL Marlies to fill out the active roster.
Michael Hutchinson was placed on waivers by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday. The 29-year-old goaltender went 0-4-1 with a 4.44 goals-against average and an .879 save percentage this season. (Source: Bob McKenzie on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: This move comes less than 24 hours after Hutchinson was torched for five goals on 34 shots in what was his fifth straight loss to open the season. The Leafs were simply unable to get it done with Hutchinson backstopping them, so he'll either be picked up by another organization or find himself in the AHL where he's better suited. It's likely Kasimir Kaskisuo (6-1-1, 2.13 GAA, .928 SV%) is called up from the Toronto Marlies in a corresponding move. It remains to be seen if the Leafs look to bring in another goaltender from outside the organization.
The St Louis Blues traded forward Robby Fabbri to Detroit for fellow forward Jacob De La Rose. Fabbri is 23 years old while De La Rose is 24. (Source: ESPN)
Fantasy Impact: Fabbri has a better fantasy track record despite fewer games in the NHL and the better pedigree (2014 first-round pick versus the second round the year before). De La Rose has more points this season.

Fantasy Impact: Krecji hasn't played since leaving with an injury against Anaheim on October 14th. Krecji isn't in the top tier of fantasy forwards but did have a 20 goal, 73 point season last year. He's certainly worthy of consideration for depth while he makes his way back from injury, particularly in 12-team leagues.

Fantasy Impact: This is a welcomed addidtion for a Maple Leafs defensive group that has struggled of late. The 22-year-old is coming off his first full season with the Maple Leafs where he contributed 17 points (four goals, 13 assists) in 64 games played. He's more likely to be a real-life boost to the Leafs than a boost to any fantasy teams. It's likely that Kevin Gravel will be sent to the AHL Marlies in a corresponding move.

The Arizona Coyotes have signed goaltender Darcy Kuemper to a two-year extension, worth an annual average of $4.5 million. (Source: TSN)
Fantasy Impact: Darcy Kuemper is getting rewarded for his work last season. Antti Raanta missed all but 12 games, and Kuemper stepped up in a major way. In 2018-19 Darcy Kuemper posted a 27-20-8 record, with a 2.33 GAA and a .925 save percentage. As far as 2019-20 goes, Kuemper will have solid stretches, but will ultimately share the net with Antti Raanta. We are likely looking at a timeshare in Arizona, and that is never ideal for fantasy. The goaltending situation is worth monitoring, as one of Kuemper or Raanta could take control. However, it is best to expect a split to start the season.
Justin Faulk has been traded to the St Louis Blues in exchange for Joel Edmundson and prospect Dominik Bokk. Faulk was then signed to a 7-year, $45.5 million extension. (Source: ESPN)
Fantasy Impact: Faulk is one of the better goal-scoring defensemen in the NHL. He has six straight seasons of 30+ points but only one (2014-15 with 49). Faulk is not currently on the top-level of fantasy defensemen but he is a good option who should be owned in the vast majority of leagues.
