Fantasy Football Week 12 Flex Favorites

Fantasy Football Week 12 Flex Favorites

If you’re reading this, then you are probably hoping for quality flex advice. The idea with this article is to make those tricky flex debates a little easier. A flex player is a player not in the top 60 players according to FantasyPros Flex Week 12 Rankings in half-point PPR leagues as of Wednesday.

I decided to go with the no players in the top 60 to target 12-team leagues that start two running backs and three wide receivers (five players x 12 teams = 60 players). The players below will only be running backs or wide receivers since these are the two most common positions that fill the flex spot. If you don’t have any of the players below or are facing your own flex lineup decisions and need some help, then ask me on Twitter @mitchellrenz365.

Sammy Watkins (WR – LAR) vs. NO
For those of us who faced Keenan Allen, Philip Rivers and played Dak Prescott, go with a player with a ton of upside to get you out of a Thanksgiving Day hole. Watkins has the upside to have a huge week so if you are down by a large number of points go with a player who has scored double-digit fantasy points four times this season but also scored 28 once. A big factor in this matchup is if Saints rookie cornerback Marshon Lattimore is going to play, he was spotted in a walking boot after Thursday’s practice which suggests to me he will be unable to play which could lead to a big day for Watkins.

Jonathan Stewart (RB – CAR) @NYJ
When teams go on a bye, we tend to forget about them, and I think that is precisely what happened to Jonathan Stewart this week. If I told you a running back had 17 carries for 110 yards the week before playing the Jets, most people would be excited about starting that player in their flex spot.

Yet, Stewart is ranked so low this week because the Panthers were on a bye Week 11. The Panthers offense will be able to move the ball better now that Greg Olsen is returning which should lead to more chances for Stewart to find the end zone.

Kenny Stills (WR – MIA) @NE
This past week, Stills had seven catches for 180 yards with one touchdown and one serious man crush on quarterback Matt Moore. Moore and Stills have a serious connection this season.

Believe it or not, but Stills has thrived in challenging matchups lately, scoring over 26 fantasy points in his last two games against teams in the top 10 in points allowed to wide receivers. In his next five matchups, Stills will battle three defenses in the top five in terms of fantasy points given up to wide receivers.

Danny Woodhead (RB – BAL) @HOU
The Houston Texans are ranked as the number one defense against running backs this season, so why on Earth would I recommend Woodhead? First, the Texans have been dominant against one-dimensional RBs, allowing just one rushing touchdown this season to a running back which was Leonard Fournette back in Week 1.

Woodhead isn’t your typical running back which is why the Ravens will utilize him in this matchup. Last week, Woodhead had five receptions for only 21 yards, but the fact he had five receptions in a game where the Ravens shut out the Packers is promising because it tells me they want to get his hands on the ball.

Mohamed Sanu (WR – ATL) vs. TB
Sanu finds himself in a great matchup in Week 12 against the Buccaneers, who have allowed the most fantasy points to wide receivers this season. They have also allowed the most receptions (146) and yards (1,952) to the wide receiver position.

Sanu has had at least three catches in five straight games and he has scored a touchdown in three of his last four games. This Falcons offense has been playing better, and I expect Sanu to have a good game in a great matchup, which makes him a decent flex in Week 12.

Hopefully, these players allow you to flex your fantasy flex muscles like Latavius Murray and Davante Adams did last week in my Week 11 Flex Favorites.
