Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the NBA FanDuel lineup article. We have a small four-game slate to work with on tonight’s slate. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my lineup for tonight’s slate.

Point Guard
Kyrie Irving (BOS): $8,200 vs. NOP
If you’re spending up at point guard, you basically only have Kyrie Irving and Damian Lillard to choose from tonight. Between the two, I’m choosing Irving for the salary savings since there is not a whole lot of solid value options available at the moment. Irving has a decent matchup against the Pelicans who are in the bottom ten of the NBA against opposing point guards. Also, this should be a decent uptempo game for the Celtics considering the Pelicans play at the third-highest pace in the entire league.
Dennis Smith Jr. (DAL): $6,500 at DEN
Dennis Smith Jr. has been up and down for most of this season, but it appears he may finally have a grasp of the bulk of the point guard minutes for this Mavericks team. Over his past eight games, Smith has averaged 30 minutes and 33.7 FanDuel points per game. Tonight he has an excellent matchup against the Nuggets, who have allowed the second-most FanDuel points to opposing point guards this season.
Shooting Guard
Wesley Matthews (DAL): $5,200 at DEN
Shooting guard is pretty ugly overall tonight, so I will be looking to save salary at both spots. Wesley Matthews has been solid as of late averaging 27.3 FanDuel points over his previous nine games. Similar to point guards, the Nuggets have allowed the second-most FanDuel points to opposing shooting guards as well.
Devin Harris (DAL): 3,500 at DEN
I don’t normally like using two players from the same position and the same team in the same lineup. However, I really think it’s best to punt the second shooting guard spot on tonight’s slate and move on to the rest of your roster. As mentioned with Matthews, the Nuggets have been pretty poor against opposing wing players this season, so Devin Harris very well could hit 15 FanDuel points tonight which would be serviceable at his current price point.
Small Forward
Jimmy Butler (MIN): $9,400 at ORL
Outside of DeMarcus Cousins, Jimmy Butler is my favorite player to spend up for on tonight’s slate. The Timberwolves currently have the second-highest projected team total on the slate tonight and the Magic have been horrendous lately on defense.
Josh Jackson (PHO): $5,200 at POR
It has been announced that T.J. Warren and Marquese Chriss have been ruled out for tonight’s game which means Josh Jackson will draw the start. Jackson does not have an easy matchup against Evan Turner and the Trail Blazers. However, he will more than likely see 30+ minutes on the court which his salary obviously does not reflect. Although he is not a super cheap value option, he is definitely now my favorite bargain player on tonight’s slate.
Power Forward
Jayson Tatum (BOS): $5,600 vs. NOP
Jayson Tatum was initially labeled as a game-time decision for tonight’s game with the Pelicans. However, he went through the team’s practice this morning and it is looking like he will play. The matchup is not great against Anthony Davis, but Tatum has been pretty solid during his rookie season, averaging 31 minutes and 26.6 FanDuel points per game.
Dragan Bender (PHO): $4,800 at POR
Another player who will benefit from the absence of Chriss is Dragan Bender. Bender flopped against the Pacers on Sunday, butt Bender put up 32.6 and 43.2 FanDuel points in the previous two games Chriss was unavailable. This game could very well end in a blow out in favor of the Trail Blazers, but it should not jeopardize Bender’s minutes since the Suns are so thin on players tonight.
Center
DeMarcus Cousins (NOP): $11,200 at BOS
I mentioned under Jimmy Butler that DeMarcus Cousins was my favorite player to spend up for on tonight’s slate. Cousins has been very consistent this season and has always offered massive upside on any particular night. The Celtics overall are a pretty solid defensive team, but they are only middle of the pack against opposing centers this season.
