Monday’s slate will feature a clean seven-game slate with no teams operating on a back-to-back. The day’s excitement takes a bit of a hit with superstar Luka Doncic not expected to play, though a handful of star options remain. Lineups lock at tip-off at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Point Guard
Dejounte Murray (PG – SA): $6,500 at HOU
Gregg Popovich could very well be the hardest man on Earth to peg, which is why you should always exercise caution when inserting San Antonio Spurs players into your lineup. Murray started his first game since late November and managed to score just under 42 FanDuel points. The belief is that Murray should draw another start tonight, which would be significant for his value in DFS as he’s clearly been far more productive as a starter than coming off the bench. The Houston Rockets are a solid matchup as they rank 17th in defensive rating and 4th in pace.

Jalen Brunson (PG – DAL): $3,700 at MIL
Starting PG Luka Doncic is expected to miss this contest, which should push Brunson into the starting lineup barring any unforeseen circumstances. In his first real action with a solid number of minutes, Brunson totaled 34.4 FanDuel points against a tough matchup in the Miami Heat. Brunson nearly triple doubled, and although the matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks is not a good one, it is a bit easier with Eric Bledsoe sidelined due to injury. Brunson will likely be a chalky play tonight, but his price is so low that it really shouldn’t be hard for him to return value.
Shooting Guard
Jimmy Butler (SG – MIA): $9,400 at MEM
Butler has been hot recently, and his insane playing time hasn’t hurt his cause as he’s eclipsed 40+ minutes in three of his last four contests. With Justise Winslow and Goran Dragic once again sidelined, Butler will be relied upon to handle the ball more often and will need to shoulder the scoring load for the Miami Heat. Luckily for Butler and the Heat, the matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies is a good one as they rank 20th in defensive rating and 5th in pace, providing a major pace-up spot for a slow Heat team.
Norman Powell (SG – TOR): $5,000 vs. CLE
Fred VanVleet is considered doubtful to suit up tonight, potentially leaving Powell in the lineup for another start. The man they call Stormin Norman has hit his stride lately as he’s topped 25+ FanDuel points in all of his last three contests, scoring 22+ real-life points in his last two. The matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers is a good one as they rank 28th in defensive rating, but only 25th in pace. Expect the Toronto Raptors to score a lot; they currently have the third-highest implied total of the night.
Small Forward
Luke Kennard (SF – DET): $5,800 vs. WAS
Kennard is coming off a strong 36-point performance against the Houston Rockets, though he has regularly been on the injury report, so make sure to monitor his status prior to tip-off. If Kennard is a go, he’s got the potential to do big things tonight as the Washington Wizards are terrible defensively, ranking 30th in defensive rating and second in pace. It’s legitimately a dream matchup, and all Detroit Pistons players are fine options for tonight’s matchup between the two teams.
Troy Brown Jr. (SF – WAS): $4,800 vs. DET
Coming off the bench doesn’t affect Brown one bit as he’s been one of the most consistent DFS performers in the last two weeks. Brown has topped 20+ FanDuel points in all of his last six contests. His minutes are relatively steady, particularly recently. Brown should get more than enough run tonight on a banged-up Wizards team to return value, especially because the Pistons rank 19th in defensive rating.
Power Forward
Bam Adebayo (PF – MIA): $9,300 vs. MEM
Adebayo is now priced like a stud, though it is well deserved. Adebayo has managed to put up only one stinker in his past five contests, though he also topped 50+ FanDuel points in the remaining four. A potential triple-double threat, Adebayo has seen big minutes lately and should be a centerpiece for a banged-up Heat team. Bam benefits from the same awesome matchup in the Grizzlies as Butler does.
Frank Kaminsky (PF – PHO): $4,900 vs. POR
Another start is in line for Kaminsky at the five-spot, though it could be coming to an end shortly with Aron Baynes progressing and Deandre Ayton’s suspension coming to a close. In their places, Kaminsky has filled in admirably and has scored 37.5 and 38.4 FanDuel points in his last two contests. The Portland Trail Blazers present a solid matchup as they rank 21st in defensive rating and 11th in pace.
Center
Andre Drummond (C – DET): $10,000 vs. WAS
The Wizards are currently missing both Thomas Bryant and Moe Wagner at center, which means Ian Mahinmi will draw another start. As long as Drummond’s eyes are okay – yes, an allergic reaction to an avocado really did cause this — he should be in line for a massive night. The Wizards are terrible defensively, play at a very fast pace, and struggle to defend big-men. Fire up Drummond with confidence.
