With Week 9 coming to a surprisingly competitive conclusion on Monday Night Football, fantasy football managers have quickly set their sights on improving their rosters ahead of Week 10. With waivers set to run tonight in most leagues, we will jump right into some of the top waiver wire adds for those of you are lucky enough to play in IDP leagues. You truly don’t know what you are missing until you try it. Let’s dig in.

Defensive Line
Trey Hendrickson (LB – NO): 4% rostered on Yahoo!
Trey Hendrickson put on a show on Sunday Night Football and literally forced the New Orleans Saints hand in assuring he gets regular snaps going forward. He will likely rotate with Cameron Jordan and Marcus Davenport even more heavily while sharing the field with them in pass rush packages. He is simply too hot to keep off the field. Hendrickson was excellent in Week 9, racking up two solos, one assist, two sacks, two tackles for loss, and two QB hits. He got to Tom Brady on three consecutive plays as he had another sack wiped out by a pointless defensive penalty. He now has at least one sack in four of his last five games and needs to be rostered universally. Up to 7.5 sacks, good for third in the league, there is no reason to allow your rival managers to add someone who could wreck a matchup during the playoffs. Add him even if it is just to block potential opponents.
Al-Quadin Muhammad (DE – IND): 0% rostered on Yahoo!
Al-Quadin has seen over 60 percent of the snaps for two straight weeks and now has two sacks in his last four games. He was excellent in Week 9, racking up four solos, two tackles for loss, one sack, and one QB hit. Al-Quadin is more of a deep league special but is someone worth monitoring even if you are currently set at the position. He looked excellent in Week 9 and could have a big second half of the season. Add him wherever needed.
Carlos Dunlap (DE – SEA): 4% rostered on Yahoo!
Carlos Dunlap settled into Seattle immediately. In his first game with his new team, he played 68 percent of the snaps, recording three solos, two assists, one sack, three tackles for loss, and two QB hits. I am not too sure why Dunlap was dropped in so many leagues when his situation was improving, but here we are. Dunlap should be the first defensive line name you check your wire for this week. He should not be available in competitive leagues, but four percent rostered suggests that he is. Dunlap has recorded 7.5 or more sacks in each of his last seven seasons and needs to be universally rostered in competitive, and even semi-competitive leagues.
Jerry Tillery (DT – LAC): 0% rostered on Yahoo!
It is not often that we suggest defensive tackles in this space, but when the high talent ones start to show some consistency we take notice. If you play in a DT league, Jerry Tillery is obviously long gone, but for those of you still toiling in 2010 aka DL leagues, Tillery is someone to add to the end of your bench. He now has a sack in two straight weeks and was strong in Week 9 with one solo, one sack, one pass defended, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Tillery is up to three sacks on the year, good for a tie for eighth among defensive tackles.
Linebackers
Eric Wilson (LB – MIN): 10% rostered on Yahoo!
If I could place gifs in this column I would post the one with Ren slapping Stimpy. Too dated a reference for you? Let’s move on. Eric Wilson is the LB12 in both total and average fantasy points on the season. Think he flew up thanks to a big Week 9? He was the LB21 overall and the LB16 in fantasy points per game heading into Week 9. If Wilson is still available in your league, you have been asleep at the wheel. Wilson made good on his plus Week 9 matchup, racking up eight solos, five assists, 0.5 sacks, one QB hit, one interception, and one pass defended. Add him wherever possible.
Myles Jack (LB – JAC): 11% rostered on Yahoo!
I get it, it is 2020, crazy things have and continue to happen, but Myles Jack being available in 89 percent of Yahoo! leagues is borderline ridiculous. Jack has been an LB1 option every week he has been healthy and will continue to be one going forward. He is the LB8 in fantasy points per game and should be rostered in all competitive leagues, period. No disclaimer or ‘in competitive leagues’ tag. If you play in a league with more than eight teams and at least one IDP spot, Jack needs to be rostered. It is becoming a weekly tradition to feature at least one star player with stunning rostered numbers in this column, but for it to be Myles Jack this week is flabbergasting. Jack has shined in his move back to the weakside and has been one of the top IDP assets in the league this season. Add him everywhere and be aggressive, so we can feature someone like T.J. Edwards here for next week.
Josey Jewell (LB – DEN): 3% rostered on Yahoo!
Josey Jewell continues to produce, so much so that writers fatigue is starting to set in seeing his name here so often. An LB3 with weekly LB2 upside, Jewell has been locked in as a starter since the team released Mark Barron. He disappointed in Week 6 and 7 but has been strong for the rest of the season. He has had five strong to great weeks in his eight contests and needs to be rostered wherever possible. He saw nine solos, one assist, one tackle for loss, and one QB hit in Week 9, and should be extremely busy once again in Week 10 with Josh Jacobs on deck. Add him wherever needed.
Bobby Okereke (LB – IND): 5% rostered on Yahoo!
Bobby Okereke has been rock solid for IDP managers this season and needs to be rostered in more than just five percent of leagues. He has been starting over Anthony Walker (although they share the field often) and has produced at an LB3 level this season. He is a matchup-based LB2 option and proved he can take advantage of great matchups in Week 9 by racking up seven solos, two assists, one tackle for loss, and one forced fumble against Baltimore. Okereke is the LB11 in total fantasy points and the LB8 in fantasy points per game since Week 4. Run and add him wherever he is available.
Defensive Backs
Jabrill Peppers (S – NYG): 7% rostered on Yahoo!
Hopefully, you listened last week and added Jabrill Peppers, because he had himself a game in Week 9 thanks to a tremendous matchup against Washington. He finished the day, finishing with four solos, two assists, one interception, three passes defended, and one touchdown. There is absolutely no reason for a high-level talent like Peppers to be available in so many leagues. The former first rounder in the midst of a breakout season, and is the DB10 since Week 4. Ignore him at your own peril.
Kamren Curl (S – WAS): 0% rostered on Yahoo!
Speaking of safeties who had themselves a game in that Giants-Washinton contest, Kamren Curl went off. He came almost out of nowhere to rack up a highly impressive six solos, five assists, one sack, one tackle for loss, and two QB hits. He played every snap after seeing 70 percent of the snaps in Week 7 and looks like he will be locked in at safety with Landon Collins lost for the year. Expectations should be tempered, but Curl displayed some massive upside in Week 9, more than enough to make him someone in the deepest of leagues will be running to the wire for. Add him wherever needed and be aggressive, there are not going to be many more impact players breaking through in ocean deep leagues.
Johnathan Abram (S – LV): 12% rostered on Yahoo!
How did you do this to my boy? It is true that Abram has not produced at a level up to expectations this season, but he is much too talented and downright exciting not to be on 88 percent of rosters. He missed a game and had a bye in back to back weeks, so I understand it, but much like with Peppers, there are some talents you simply just roll with. He has been more DB3 than the DB1 we were hoping he’d be this season but could be picking things back up after recording six solos, four assists, and one pass defended in Week 9. In reality, Abram has had three strong weeks in seven games played, but being that we are heading to Week 10, three strong games does not have the same macro effect. Abram is much too talented to be available in any competitive leagues and should be added wherever available.
Rodney McLeod (S – PHI): 4% rostered on Yahoo!
Yes, he was on a bye in Week 9, but I made a point to check, Rodney McLeod, the DB21 on the season and the DB10 since Week 4, was rostered in just five percent of Yahoo leagues prior to his bye. He is the S11 in fantasy points per game, and should continue to push his way up the DB ranks as larger samples drop one game cornerback outbursts down those rankings. He is more DB3 with obvious DB1 upside but should be a DB1 level producer for Week 10 thanks t having the New York Giants on tap. In a heavy week for safety byes, McLeod is someone to strongly consider, even if it is just for a one week audition.
