ThriveFantasy is one of the most intriguing and exciting names in the DFS arena. Instead of the traditional salary cap based offerings, ThriveFantasy offers a variety of attractive prop based contests. They have two exciting DFS contest types to choose from, the Contest Lobby and the Props Lobby.
Their Props Lobby allows DFS players to make an over/under prediction on two to four props to win cash. Two correct selections pay a 3.6x time multiplier, three correct predictions pay a 6.2x multiplier, and four correct picks pay an 11 times multiplier. In these contests, you are competing against yourself, and if all of your predictions hit, you win the corresponding amount.
The Contest Lobby is where things really get intriguing. The Contest Lobby’s prop contests for the NFL involves making predictions on five out of the 10 listed props. You will be required to make two additional picks to ensure fairness just in case one of your players fails to play. These backup picks are called ice picks.
Fantasy sports players, especially DFS players, have an edge when it comes to player prop betting. DFS players set lineups taking into account potential production when weighing competing options against each other. This is most pronounced with the NBA and the NFL DFS players. As such, diving into prop based DFS contests is a smart way to further monetize your knowledge. While the Contest Lobby requires you to select 10 different props, you can still make a return even if you do not get every over/under prediction right.
Instead of providing my full lineup, we will instead be shifting to highlighting the top plays to consider. These are Contest Lobby props that are good enough that they would be strong considerations if offered in the Prop Lobby.

Derrick Henry (RB – TEN): 90.5 rushing yards
This is the most appealing over/under on ThriveFantasy for Week 1. Despite trading away superstar receiver A.J. Brown, the Tennessee Titans are still a much better football team than the New York Giants. New York was one of the bottom eight teams in the league in rushing define, surrendering 129.5 yards per game. Add to that the fact that the lack of a true number one will likely lead to an increased emphasis on the ground game, and this is the best value left on Thrive. This game features one of the largest opening and current spreads of the week, which means that we can expect the Titans to enter clock-killing mode sometime early in the fourth quarter. Henry may only need a half to reach this number against a defense that is expected to be without top pick Kayvon Thibodeaux and last year’s star rookie Azeez Ojulari. New York still has some talent on the interior of the defensive line, but without both starting edge rushers and a linebacker corps that remains in shambles after the release of Blake Martinez, Henry over 90.5 rushing yards should be in all selection cards despite awarding just 80 points.
Pick: Over (80 points)
Tyreek Hill (WR – MIA): 70.5 receiving yards
100 points for Tyreek on either side makes this a play you want to include regardless of your lean. 70.5 receiving yards is one of the lowest numbers we will see all season, so be sure to take advantage while people are still low on Tua Tagovailoa. Hill averaged 100.5 receiving yards per game against New England in his career, and while those games came with one of the most talented of all time under center in Patrick Mahomes, the Patriots inability to stop him despite having better defenses than they have this year remains noteworthy. Head coach Mike McDaniel comes from the Kyle Shanahan tree and will be sure to include a lot of motion and passes at or behind the line of scrimmage in an effort to let his playmakers (namely Hill and Jaylen Waddle) make plays. In short, while the deep accuracy may remain in question, Tua’s ability to complete short passes is not, and that will be the bread and butter of this offense. Take Hill and the over for Week 1 at ThriveFantasy.
Pick: Over (100 points)
Chris Godwin (WR – TB): 48.5 receiving yards
If Chris Godwin plays, this is an obvious smash. Even on limited snaps, this is a number Godwin should hit easily. At ThriveFantasy we get two ICE picks (in case of emergency), so if Godwin does not play, your top backup play will join your 10 pick selection in the contest lobby contest of your choice. 75 points is a number many will shy away from but remember, we are competing against others, so having high probability winners mixed with high return predictions (110 points and 120 points) is the preferred strategy. Godwin is going to be set between 75-90 receiving yards for most of the season, so this is a number everyone should jump on, especially since ICE picks are a thing.
Pick: Over (75 points)
