Welcome back to another edition of the closer report. We’re seeing a lot of movement for a number of different reasons whether it be injuries, relievers taking complete control of certain closer situations or closers on teams who haven’t been winning many games as of late.

Fantasy Baseball Closer News & Notes
The Braves activated Iglesias off the injured list late last week. He has made three appearances and recorded one save so far this season. He’ll be moved up the closer chart as he sees more appearances and returns to his old form.
Andres Munoz suffered a setback after an MRI revealed inflammation in his right shoulder. It doesn’t sound like he’ll be returning to the Mariners bullpen till sometime in June. In the meantime, Paul Sewald should remain the clear closer for Seattle.
The Phillies placed Jose Alvarado (wrist) on the IL. It remains a committee situation in their bullpen with Craig Kimbrel, Matt Strahm and Gregory Soto pitching in high leverage situations. Alvarado had a team-high five saves.
Smith has taken full control of the Rangers closer situation. He has already recorded seven saves and he didn’t take full command of the job till earlier this month.
Williams in the Brewers bullpen last recorded a save on April 29 and he has only made two appearances since then. Milwaukee as a team is 2-8 as a team since then.
We’re seeing a number of closers on poor teams take full control of their closer situations. That includes Finnegan (Nationals), Lange (Tigers) and Johnson (Rockies). They might not be on teams that win as many games, but they’re still going to see more save opportunities than other closers who might be on better teams but are in committees in their bullpen situations.
