Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Early Week 7 Pickups to Add (2024)

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Early Week 7 Pickups to Add (2024)

Can you believe we’re almost at the halfway point of our fantasy football regular season?

Whether you’re crushing it through six weeks or need a miracle – now’s the time to put your foot on the gas and make some season-altering moves on the waiver wire.

As always, I’ll be going through some early waiver wire leans. The following players played at 1:00 on Sunday or earlier and are rostered in fewer than 40% of leagues!

Week 7 Early Pickups to Add

Sean Tucker (RB – TB)

1.0% rostered

Tucker served as Bucky Irving‘s RB2 at the beginning of today’s game because Rachaad White was out with an injury. However, as the Buccaneers took a commanding lead, Tucker started taking over the backfield. Tucker finished with 14 carries and three catches for 192 total yards and two touchdowns. As of now, a healthy White and Irving still figure to be ahead of Tucker on the depth chart. However, it’s a situation to monitor, and if I’m in a deep league, Tucker’s ceiling is tantalizing.

Emanuel Wilson (RB – GB)

7.0% rostered

Here’s your weekly reminder to handcuff your running backs. Wilson is Josh Jacobs‘ backup but a must-add insurance policy if you roster Jacobs. However, as long as Jacobs is healthy, Wilson should not be starting in any format.

Dameon Pierce (RB – HOU)

3.1% rostered

Here’s another handcuff. Anyone with Joe Mixon should roster Pierce. In Pierce’s first game of the season today, he ran the ball eight times for 76 yards and a touchdown.

DeMario Douglas (WR – NE)

21.1% rostered

Douglas is a must-add in all formats. We should never chase past performances in fantasy football. However, in Douglas’ case, we can point to a tangible explanation for his big day today – Drake Maye. Maye made his first start, and Douglas was a beneficiary, catching six of his nine targets for 92 yards and a touchdown. Douglas is an explosive weapon with a gunslinger under center in New England.

Gabe Davis (WR – JAX)

26.0% rostered

Davis caught five passes for 45 yards and two touchdowns this morning in London. While it was obviously a great fantasy performance worth mentioning, I’m hesitant to prioritize Davis. Through six games, Davis has led the Jaguars in targets just once (week two).

The Jaguars have far too many weapons to expect this type of performance from Davis on a regular basis. However, if you’re hurting at WR, I’m not sure there are many better options on the waiver wire, especially as the Jaguars will take on the lowly New England Patriots next weekend.

Romeo Doubs (WR – GB)

29.6% rostered

Doubs caught two touchdowns today but didn’t see a ton of work late in the game because the Packers took such a commanding lead early against the Cardinals. He saw eight targets in week four, missed week five due to a suspension, and picked up right where he left off today. Jordan Love looked great today, and Doubs is reaping the benefits. I’d add Doubs before Gabe Davis.

Rashod Bateman (WR – BAL)

5.9% rostered

Bateman passed the eye test today in addition to putting up a solid stat line (four catches, 71 yards). Bateman has 12 targets over the last two weeks and is solidifying his role as Baltimore’s WR2. His ceiling with Zay Flowers healthy isn’t very high, but the reigning NFL MVP’s WR2 should be rostered in more than six percent of leagues.

Noah Fant (TE – SEA)

6.2% rostered

There’s a dearth of fantasy production at the tight end position this year, making Fant a viable option. He’s caught six passes for 60+ yards twice in his last four games but has yet to score a touchdown, meaning he could see some touchdown regression over the next few weeks. I like him as far as waiver wire TEs go.

Hunter Henry (TE – NE)

18.3% rostered

With third-overall pick Drake Maye under center, the Patriots’ offense scored a season-high 21 points. Henry saw his highest target total (five) in a month. He’s definitely a streaming option, with Maye throwing the football.

Drake Maye (QB – NE)

3.8% rostered

Maye threw for 239 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions in his first-ever NFL start, adding 38 yards on the ground. If I’m streaming quarterbacks, I’m taking a long look at starting Drake Maye next weekend as the Patriots play the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
