Today’s MLB DFS & Player Props Picks
Monday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Hunter Brown (HOU) vs. TOR
Tonight’s six-game MLB DFS slate is surprisingly pitching-rich. Hunter Brown narrowly edges out the second pitcher on the table. According to FanGraphs, Brown has the following stats in four starts spanning 24 innings in 2025.
- 1.50 ERA
- 3.02 xERA
- 3.03 xFIP
- 3.04 SIERA
- 0.83 WHIP
- Two wins
- Four quality starts
- 5.7 BB%
- 25.3 K%
- 58.3 GB%
- 11.8 SwStr%
- 28.5 CSW%
- 115 stuff+
- 104 location+
- 116 pitching+
He’s pitching at an ace-like level. Brown has a favorable matchup against the Blue Jays (22nd in wRC+ (92) versus righties this year) and tasty betting info. The Astros are -140, and the game’s total is a pitcher-friendly 7.5 runs.
Spencer Schwellenbach (ATL) vs. STL
Like Brown, Spencer Schwellenbach is pitching at an ace-like level. In four starts spanning 24.2 innings this year, Schwellenbach has a 2.55 ERA, 3.25 xERA, 3.03 xFIP, 3.13 SIERA, 0.85 WHIP, 5.3 BB%, 23.4 K% and 54.5 GB%. Schwellenbach’s sensational numbers are supported by a 14.6 SwStr%, 28.9 CSW%, 111 stuff+, 106 location+ and 117 pitching+.
Schwellenbach’s matchup is average tonight. His betting info is also mixed. The Braves are -185. However, the game’s total is an eyebrow-raising 8.5 runs. Thus, I have Schwellenbach slightly behind Brown in the starting pitcher rankings.
Max Meyer (MIA) vs. CIN
Max Meyer is a GPP-specific, DraftKings-only suggestion. Still, he’s an intriguing, high-upside option as an SP2 at an affordable salary on DraftKings. In four starts totaling 24 innings this year, Meyer has the following stats.
- 2.63 ERA
- 3.90 xERA
- 2.92 xFIP
- 2.97 SIERA
- 1.13 WHIP
- One win
- Three quality starts
- 7.1 BB%
- 27.6 K%
- 58.1 GB%
- 13.2 SwStr%
- 28.3 CSW%
- 95 stuff+
- 112 location+
- 112 pitching+
The Marlins are +115. Yet, the game’s total is a pitcher-friendly 7.5 runs, and the Reds are a favorable matchup. Cincinnati is tied for 23rd in wRC+ (91) with a 23.4 K% versus right-handed pitching this year. As a result, Meyer has a GPP-friendly ceiling as an SP2 at DraftKings tonight.

Suggested Lineup Stacks
Is Aaron Nola unlucky or lousy? In four starts spanning 21.2 innings this year, he has a 6.65 ERA, 4.01 xERA, 3.44 xFIP, 3.56 SIERA and 1.66 WHIP. The veteran righty has also coughed up 1.66 HR/9.
Nola probably isn’t as bad as his ERA. However, this isn’t the first time his ERA estimators were much lower than his ERA, and handwaving away the gap as bad luck is ill-advised. Furthermore, Nola has allowed a .322 wOBA to lefties and a .313 wOBA to righties since 2024. So, he’s not an intimidating matchup for New York’s lefties or righties, enhancing the appeal of stacking them.
Core Studs
- In 96 plate appearances this year, Juan Soto has three homers, two stolen bases, a .385 OBP, .179 ISO and 133 wRC+.
- In 485 plate appearances against righties at home since 2023, Austin Riley has had a .355 OBP, .257 ISO and 143 wRC+.
- Brandon Nimmo has had a .342 OBP, .206 ISO and 121 wRC+ against righties since 2023.
Value Plays/Punts
- Eric Wagaman hit second against a lefty yesterday and batted cleanup against a lefty last Thursday. So, he has a DFS-friendly lineup spot against southpaws. Wagaman also has two homers, a .333 OBP, .167 ISO and 114 wRC+ in 66 plate appearances this season.
- Randy Vasquez has yielded a jaw-dropping .389 wOBA to 242 left-handed batters since last year. Trey Sweeney is a punt-priced exposure to Vasquez’s ineptitude against lefties.
- Luisangel Acuna has six stolen bases, a .360 OBP, .111 ISO and 120 wRC+ in 50 plate appearances this season.
