Dynasty Fantasy Football Trade Targets to Buy
Chuba Hubbard (RB – CAR)
Chuba Hubbard dodged almost every bullet at the NFL Draft in April. The Panthers need a lot of help at other positions, but opted to wait until the fourth round to select Trevor Etienne. The team also signed Rico Dowdle in free agency, who doesn’t seem to be a threat to Hubbard’s No. 1 RB role as of yet.
The Panthers selected receivers in Tetairoa McMillan with their first-round pick and Jimmy Horn with their sixth-round pick. They’re revamping the offense, and it seems like they’re perfectly fine letting Hubbard continue to be a big part of that. His dynasty expert consensus ranking (ECR) of RB19 is once again lower than his 2024 finish of RB15 in PPR scoring. I’ve seen enough, and I want Hubbard on my roster if the price is right.
Kaleb Johnson (RB – PIT)
The first rookie that makes my list is the running back selected in the third round out of Iowa: Kaleb Johnson. We all know Jaylen Warren is still the No. 1 RB in Pittsburgh, but Johnson looked outstanding in college and should be able to take that role from Warren at some point. Johnson is a first-round dynasty rookie pick in almost every format, but he’s ranked as the RB23 in ECR at the moment, just behind Alvin Kamara.
In terms of longevity, we would all prefer Johnson to Kamara, but in terms of scoring this season, Kamara might be the better option. If you’re rebuilding or have enough depth to plan for the future, Johnson is worth every penny of his RB23 price tag, even during rookie fever season.
Xavier Worthy (WR – KC)
The Chiefs’ offense could be in for a rough year in 2025 as they try to hold on to the lightning they caught in the bottle. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are a dynamic duo, but both are aging. Kelce might even be done after this season. This is where Xavier Worthy comes in.
Worthy was a little underwhelming overall last year, but very fun to watch in spurts. He finished as the WR33 in PPR scoring in 2024, scoring over 15 PPR points in six out of 16 games. There was one game in which he finished with -1 PPR point because he rushed for -10 yards.
Worthy is a high-risk, high-reward kind of player, which makes his WR26 ranking understandable. Either way, I think I’d rather take the ride in his second year at that price than sell him to another team.
Chris Olave (WR – NO)
The Saints are just a mess right now. Fantasy managers are familiar with the Kamara at running back and Chris Olave at wide receiver, but past that, it gets bleak quickly. Regardless, Olave’s WR28 ranking in dynasty ECR still feels like a good value. Sure, he missed some time last year, and when he did play, he struggled, but I’m willing to look to the future here.
Olave might just need a fresh start, and the new-look Saints might help him out there. New head coach Kellen Moore loves to run a high-powered offense. Whoever is the quarterback under center, I fully expect them to look for Olave early and often. If I can add Olave in a package, either tiering up or down, I’m happily doing that and trusting the talent.
Kyle Pitts (TE – ATL)
Call me a broken record, but I’m still buying Kyle Pitts. If anything, I’m more interested with each passing month that his value goes down further. He’s currently ranked as the TE12 in dynasty ECR, just ahead of Evan Engram and just behind Dalton Kincaid. I’d rather have Pitts and his upside over Kincaid and his stellar opportunity, but it’s more than that.
Much like I said about Olave, I’m trusting the talent with Pitts. I sincerely suspect that either the Falcons end up trading him, or they get their act together and end up utilizing him better. Either way, TE12 seems like a good time to buy in, even if I end up catching the falling knife here, as they say.
