Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft: Four Rounds (2025)

Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft: Four Rounds (2025)

After taking nearly a year off from writing, I’m back and ready to get back on the horse. What better way to announce my comeback than with a 1-QB dynasty rookie mock draft?

I used FantasyPros’ Dynasty Draft Simulator for this mock. I was happy with the results. Below is my analysis.

Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft

Round 1

Big Picture Look

Overall, I think round one went pretty much the way I would have expected it to go. Omarion Hampton going 1.03 instead of 1.02 was a little surprising, but not unheard of. I’ve seen Matthew Golden slip into the top of the second in some of my mocks, so going here at 1.10 is a bit of a reach, but again, nothing overly surprising.

I love the value on RJ Harvey — I’ve seen him go as high as 1.07, but because I chose to go wide receiver here, his falling to 1.09 is great value.

My Pick

I was torn between three players: Kaleb Johnson, RJ Harvey and Emeka Egbuka. Ultimately, I went with Egbuka because I felt I could get another solid running back in the second round, but the wide receivers would dry up by that time.

You may have to wait a year for Egbuka to reach his potential, playing behind future Hall of Famer Mike Evans and a very solid Chris Godwin. The wait, however, will be worth it as this offense looks like it will be good for years to come with Baker Mayfield under center.

Round 2

Big Picture Look

The two biggest surprises for me in this round were the 2.02 pick of Dylan Sampson and the 2.04 pick of Bhayshul Tuten. Not that I don’t like those two players, I just have wide receivers Jayden Higgins and Tre Harris over both of them. I think I also prefer running backs Devin Neal and Jaydon Blue slightly more than both.

In this round, we also see two quarterbacks go with Cam Ward at 2.08 and Jaxson Dart at the 2.12, probably right about the spots I would take them in a 1-QB league.

My Pick

I mentioned above that I valued Devin Neal over Sampson and Tuten. Truthfully, I value Neal over every running back that went in this round, and that includes Cam Skattebo. If we are solely looking at average draft position (ADP), 2.07 is a little high for Devin Neal, as I’ve consistently gotten him with the 2.11 pick. Since you can’t trade back in this format, I’m more than happy with him at 2.07.

Pre-combine, Neal was valued much higher, but after not testing well, he slipped in the NFL Draft, which resulted in him also slipping in dynasty rookie drafts. When you watch the film, though, the talent is there. All he has in front of him is a soon-to-be 30-year-old Alvin Kamara, the oft-injured Kendre Miller and the newly signed Cam Akers.

He has a very Bucky Irving type feel to him — slipped in the draft due to a bad combine, but when given his shot, he will show just how good he is.

Round 3

Big Picture Look

There were a few surprising picks in round three, but let’s face it, you’re essentially throwing darts at this point anyway, so get your guy is the mantra. I felt Jarquez Hunter was a bit of a reach — he is more of a fourth-round pick for me. I’d have taken all the running backs in round three over him and a couple of the backs in round four as well.

I love the value of Jaylin Noel at 3.01. He goes in the second round more often than not, so getting him in the third is a steal. I’m on record saying Noel will end the 2025 season with more points than fellow rookie teammate Jayden Higgins.

My Pick

As I stated, third-round picks are more or less dart throws, but taking Mason Taylor was a calculated risk, as there is a good chance he starts the season as the Jets’ No. 1 TE. There are not many third-round picks with as clear a path to start as Taylor’s.

As with all tight ends, I may have to wait a year or two to reap the benefits of Taylor, but I won’t have to wait long to at least see him play meaningful snaps.

Round 4

Big Picture Look

Ollie Gordon is one of those running backs I felt should have gone in the third round, so to get him at 4.02 is solid value. I also like the 4.05 pick of Kyle Monangai, who does not have a lot of players in front of him and could earn some meaningful playing time in 2025.

Savion Williams is a third-round pick everyone has seemingly dismissed, but he joins a Packers team with a bunch of average wide receivers, and his versatility to play snaps at running back could help his cause to get on the field. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that he sees a decent amount of snaps in his rookie season.

My Pick

Isaac TeSlaa was likely drafted to play special teams with his athletic ability. At 6-foot-4 and 214 pounds with 4.4 speed, he is a rare specimen of size and speed. It is this reason I decided to take him in the fourth round.

It wasn’t because I think he will give me fantasy points on special teams, but because he is nearly guaranteed to be active on game day — something that can’t be said for the rest of these guys in the fourth round. The Lions also traded up to get him, so if they like him, then I should as well.
