Fantasy Baseball Prospect Report
I won’t hit on every prospect every week, but will focus on the most relevant prospects throughout the week and will follow up with other notable players. This article will not focus on any AAAA-type players or veterans in the Minors who have outlived their prospect status.
NOTE: Rookie status is determined by 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched at the Major League level. All stats are up-to-date as of Sunday, June 8th.
Full Top 150 Prospect Rankings:
MLB Hitters
- 2024 AA: .307/.370/.480 | 9 BB%, 19.7 K% | 36 XBH, 8 HR, 13 SB (77 games)
- 2025 AAA (as of 5/25/25): .271/.347/.471 | 10.4 BB%, 19.7 K% | 15 XBH, 9 HR, 2 SB
- This Week: 3/16 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Debuted
- fScores: 103 fContact, 88 fDiscipline, 94 fPower, 114 fSpeed
- Comp: Lefty Dansby Swanson with more doubles power, but less home run power
- Prime Skills: Marcelo Mayer has fast hands and a good eye, leading to an advanced batting average profile, but how much power will he hit for in his prime? He’s had some bad injury luck that’s impacted his stat lines two seasons in a row now. Mayer has a solid hit tool with an 86.3% Z-contact% this season at AAA and an aggressive approach with a 64.7% Z-swing%. I think we have a high doubles guy here who will provide immediate value based on an advanced approach.
- Player Notes: Mayer had two bombs this week. After the Rafael Devers trade, I would expect more consistent playing time for him.
MLB Pitchers
34. Jacob Misiorowski (SP – MIL)
- 2024 AA: 97 1/3 IP | 16.1 K-BB%, 14.1 SwStr%, 30.7 CSW% | 3.33 ERA, 1.20 WHIP
- 2025 AAA (as of 5/25/25): 52 1/3 IP | 21.5 K-BB%, 14.2 SwStr%, 30.4 CSW% | 1.55 ERA, 0.92 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 5 Ks, 4 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.80 WHIP (0 hits)
- Age: 23
- Comp: Young Tyler Glasnow with worse control
- ETA: Early 2025
- fScores (pre-season): 108 fStuff, 88 fControl, 135 fERA (as a starter)
- Prime Skills: Jacob Misiorowski has a killer fastball that has reached 103 miles per hour (MPH), and it’s at an odd arm angle (15.5% SwStr% on it in 2025), so it’s difficult to pick up with an elite slider in his pocket as well. He’s had some control issues, especially as a starter, but has seemed to have improved starting in the second half of last year. He has had marked improvement this season, just as many were about to give up on him as a starter.
- Player Notes: Misiorowski looked good and wild simultaneously in his debut, though it should be noted that the Cardinals also looked pretty bad.
AAA Hitters
5. Samuel Basallo (C/1B – BAL)
- 2024 AA/AAA: .278/.341/.449 | 8.6 BB%, 21.1 K% | 44 XBH, 19 HR, 10 SB
- 2025 AAA: .264/.371/.588 | 14.3 BB%, 25.1 K% | 20 XBH, 14 HR, 0 SB
- This Week: 9/22 | 2 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 20
- ETA: Early 2026
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Kyle Schwarber with a better hit tool
- Prime Skills: Samuel Basallo has a solid plate discipline and great power. He is young for his level. Bassallo has seen some regression in 2024 on the batted ball data, as he has not been lifting the ball in the air enough to reach his power potential. He’s been dinged in the plate skills category this year, seeing a decent increase in swinging strike and strikeout rates, while also seeing an even larger decrease in walk rate. He is built for his age with fast hands, but a tight/weird batting stance. He will likely move off the catcher position full-time because of Adley Rutschman. Oddly he has a 23.9% barrel rate and only an 11.3% line drive rate this season, I’ve never seen such a discrepancy between those two numbers, which means most of his barrels are in the air and most of his non-barrels are in the ground (48% ground ball rate), which needs corrected.
- Player Notes: Basallo is showing better contact of late and will likely be Major League ready by the deadline in the event the Orioles offload some pieces currently blocking his way to the Majors.
- 2024 AA/AAA: .277/.342/.563 | 7 BB%, 24.7 K% | 80 XBH, 31 HR, 15 SB
- 2025 AAA: .303/.358/.557 | 5.7 BB%, 26.4 K% | 35 XBH, 16 HR, 4 SB
- This Week: 10/31 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
- Age: 24
- ETA: Mid 2025
- fScores (pre-season): 95 fContact, 58 fDiscipline, 124 fPower, 106 fSpeed
- Comp: Taylor Ward/Adolis Garcia mash-up
- Prime Skills: Colby Thomas has all fields power and does a great job of shooting the ball through the gaps, and has an over 27% line drive rate in 2024. He has an open stance with hands up, loaded pre-pitch. He’s an extra-base hit machine and may run into some strikeout issues, but has improved his hit tool since last season with a 73% contact rate and 84% Z-contact rate, improvements of nearly 6-7% from last season.
- 2024 AAA: .278/.375/.472 | 12.9 BB%, 28.4 K% | 51 XBH, 19 HR, 11 SB
- 2025 AAA: .263/.367/.512 | 12.9 BB%, 33.1 K% | 29 XBH, 11 HR, 3 SB
- This Week: 8/25 | 5 XBH, 4 HR, 1 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Late 2025
- fScores (May): 92 fContact, 91 fDiscipline, 107 fPower, 88 fSpeed
- Comp: Cody Bellinger meets Joey Gallo
- Prime Skills: The power is legit for this big lefty outfielder (115.5 max exit velocity last year and around a 93.5 average exit velocity with a 108.3 90th percentile exit velocity), but the hit tool (66.6% Contact% and 75.7% Z-Contact%) and plate skills need some serious work. There is a lot of power potential here; however, it will likely come in a strong-side platoon role, because Owen Caissie’s numbers against lefties are horrendous with a .189/.362/.351 slash against same-handed pitching.
- Player Notes: Caissie has been hot in June, hitting .347 with nine extra-base hits this month.
- Season: .274/.396/.483 | 16.3 BB% / 28.6 K% | 20 XBH, 9 HR, 19 SB
- This Week: 12/32 | 6 XBH, 3 HR, 2 SB
- Notes: Brice Matthews was in my top 150 in the preseason, but I knocked him out due to the strikeouts and lack of doubles power on the season. He has proceeded, like Caissie, to tear it up since I released my rankings.
AAA Pitchers
- 2025 Season: 68 IP | 14.3 K-BB%, 10 SwStr%, 27.5 CSW% | 4.24 ERA, 1.38 WHIP
- This Week: 5 2/3 IP | 9 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.18 ERA, 1.24 WHIP
- Notes: Carson Seymour has been pretty good at AAA. There is room for a potential promotion at some point this year.
- 2025 Season: 39 IP | 29.3 K-BB%, 14.3 SwStr%, 29.4 CSW% | 2.37 ERA, 1.06 WHIP
- This Week: 6 1/3 IP | 12 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.42 ERA, 0.63 WHIP
- Notes: Jack Perkins has been insanely dominant this season as a sinker/slider pitcher who is going primarily slider, throwing it 33% of the time. The slider has a 26.5% SwStr% on the year.
AA Hitters
37. Jett Williams (SS, OF – NYM)
- 2023 A/A+/AA: .263/.425/.451 | 43 XBH, 13 HR, 45 SB
- 2024 A/AA/AAA: .215/.358/.298 | 14.9 BB%, 23.6 K% | 9 XBH, 0 HR, 5 SB (33 games)
- 2025 AA: .296/.400/.526 | 13.9 BB%, 20.4 K% | 28 XBH, 6 HR, 18 SB
- This Week: 12/30 | 10 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
- Age: 21
- ETA: Late 2025 (September)
- fScores (pre-season): 86 fContact, 146 fDiscipline, 78 fPower, 148 fSpeed
- Comp: Jose Altuve build with Bryson Stott-like production
- Prime Skills: Jett Williams has plate skills and speed, but the contact tool is still developing. It should ultimately be a good tool for Williams, as he has gotten the hit tool back to his pre-injury 2023 levels with an 80.1% contact rate. He has non-zero power and, because he has a quick swing, hits a surprising number of extra-base hits.
- Player Notes: Williams takes the cake with the most extra-base hits in one week I have seen all season, including three triples.
53. Cooper Pratt (Brewers)
- 2024 A/A+: .277/.362/.406 | 10.3 BB%, 20 K% | 26 XBH, 8 HR, 27 SB (96 games)
- 2025 AA: .244/.340/.352 | 10.4 BB%, 14.8 K% | 15 XBH, 4 HR, 15 SB
- This Week: 9/18 | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 5 SB
- Age: 20
- ETA: 2027
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Ha-Seong Kim
- Prime Skills: Cooper Pratt is a huge athletic shortstop who is far away as a high schooler, but has five-tool potential, especially due to his size. He hit for more power in High A, which was my biggest concern, even despite the size, and I would ignore some of the batting average worries at the level, as he was running a low batting average on balls in play (BABIP) in the 23-game sample size there. He has a long, exaggerated leg kick in his swing that I’m not a fan of, but the longer levers have not been an issue with his ability to get to the ball.
- Player Notes: Pratt showed off the wheels this week and made some good contact as well.
- 2024 AA: .200/.314/.365 | 13.3 BB%, 28 K% | 33 XBH, 17 HR, 1 SB
- 2025 AA: .224/.391/.533 | 20.4 BB%, 26.3 K% | 32 XBH, 17 HR, 2 SB
- This Week: 9/25 (7 BBs) | 8 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Early 2026
- fScores: 87 fContact, 119 fDiscipline, 113 fPower, 72 fSpeed
- Comp: Righty Max Muncy
- Prime Skills: Brock Wilken has massive power, but the question is if the hit tool can be average enough to allow him to mash 30-40 homers. His contact rate is up to 74%, which is good enough with his power, and he has a top-notch eye. He’s been making nice strides post-injury this season.
Zach Ehrhard (OF – BOS)
- Season: .301/.411/.472 | 14.3 BB% / 17.7 K% | 23 XBH, 5 HR, 16 SB
- This Week: 12/30 | 7 XBH, 2 HR, 5 SB
- Notes: Zach Ehrhard was a fourth-rounder last year and is having a sneaky good season, already reaching AA and posting a solid hit tool with an above-average plate approach, gap power and plus-speed.
AA Pitchers
- 2025 Season: 43 2/3 IP | 14.3 K-BB%, 15.6 SwStr%, 32.5 CSW% | 2.27 ERA, 1.21 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 1.40 WHIP
- Notes: The Red Sox have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to pitching prospects in their organization, and Connelly Early is just one of them. He rocks a plus-slider and change-up with a mid-90s fastball with an athletic lefty frame, but he needs to work on the command.
- 2025 Season: 56 1/3 IP | 21 K-BB%, 17.5 SwStr%, 32.2 CSW% | 1.92 ERA, 0.96 WHIP
- This Week: 10 2/3 IP (2 starts) | 17 Ks, 3 BBs | 0.84 ERA, 0.66 WHIP
- Notes: Jaxon Wiggins has a big, flat fastball that lives in the high 90s, but tops out at 100 with a leaning plus slider from a huge 6-foot-6 frame.
- 2025 Season: 39 2/3 IP | 23 K-BB%, 11.4 SwStr%, 29.1 CSW% | 3.18 ERA, 1.13 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 9 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.50 WHIP
- Notes: Brycen Mautz is a deception-based pitcher I’ve seen live back in Jupiter who pitches from a lower 3/4 arm slot that is borderline side-arm with a nasty slider.
A+ Hitters
- 2024 CPX: N/A
- 2025 A/A+: .346/.405/.564 | 6.8 BB%, 20.9 K% | 27 XBH,11 HR, 32 SB
- This Week: 11/27 | 6 XBH, 2 HR, 6 SB
- Age: 19
- ETA: 2028
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Fernando Tatis-lite with an Elly De La Cruz statistical profile
- Prime Skills: Konnor Griffin is a big righty with a good arm as a high school pitcher, and he has some massive power upside. The high stance and high and tight hands in his swing remind me of Fernando Tatis Jr., and like Tatis, he will probably have plenty of swings and misses to go with the damage. Tools for days here as Griffin has already posted a max exit velocity of 114.2 and has a 90th percentile exit velocity of 108.
- Player Notes: Griffin has been even better in High-A, which is notably a better hitting environment than Florida, despite better pitching competition.
21. Braden Montgomery (OF – CWS)
- 2024 College: .322/.454/.611 | 32 XBH, 17 HR, 6 SB
- 2025 A/A+: .282/.363/.480 | 10.3 BB%, 21.4 K% | 26 XBH, 9 HR, 8 SB
- This Week: 12/31 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Mid 2026
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Bigger Jasson Dominguez with less speed
- Prime Skills: Braden Montgomery is an athletic, switch-hitting power hitter. He has an arm as a former pitcher as well, and a quick, short swing where he gets to the ball no matter where it’s thrown. Montgomery is a true switch-hitter with no split to speak of; he’s a boss on both sides of the plate, which is a boon these days, though he does appear to have a better eye from the left side of the plate. He explodes on the ball from the left side of the plate, level with the zone, and seems to have more of an upper cut on his swing from the right side.
- Player Notes: Montgomery bounced back this week after having been in a slump for a couple of weeks.
36. Kevin McGonigle (2B, SS – DET)
- 2024 A/A+: .309/.401/.452 | 14 BB%, 8.5 K% | 25 XBH, 5 HR, 22 SB (74 games)
- 2025 Season: .384/.479/.646 | 20 XBH, 3 HR, 1 SB (26 games)
- This Week: 11/27 | 6 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 20
- ETA: Late 2026
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Chase Utley wannabe (with less power and more speed); bit of a Steven Kwan profile in the middle infield
- Prime Skills: Kevin McGonigle has an insane hit tool, running only an 83% contact rate in the small sample size this year, he also has a 91% Z-Contact on the short season. It’s a small sample size, but the average exit velocity is up at 93.8, while the 90th is still below 104 and the max is under 108. Even with a large focus this offseason on building power, he may just be a doubles guy with speed.
- Player Notes: McGonigle is healthy now and looking to get into more game power this year. It’s insane he has 17 doubles in only 26 games.
- Season: .235/.388/.478 | 17.6 BB% / 21.8 K% | 16 XBH, 8 HR, 14 SB
- This Week: 7/26 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 5 SB
- Notes: Carter Trice has a pretty bad hit tool, but solid plate approach, power and speed.
A+ Pitchers
- 2024 A: 85 IP | 31 K-BB%, 20.8 SwStr%, 36.2 CSW% | 2.30 ERA, 0.91 WHIP
- 2025 CPX/A/A+: 29 IP | 49.5 K-BB%, 28.9 SwStr%, 45.3 CSW% | 0.93 ERA, 0.48 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 10 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.40 WHIP
- Age: 21
- ETA: Early 2026
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Logan Gilbert
- Prime Skills: Travis Sykora has some sick stuff as a former third-rounder. He is a big-time name to watch. He’s a giant at 6-foot-6. He has a 44.4% whiff rate in the Minors. He needs to be up in A+ or AA at this point. Sykora rocks a mid-90s fastball with ridiculous extension due to his size, with more run than ride, and he also has a devastating 81-83 MPH splitter and 85 MPH hard slider. I mentioned on my podcast that he looked like he was facing Little Leaguers during his rehab assignment — that’s how good his stuff is. He should move fast this year.
- Player Notes: Sykora continues to be completely ridiculous.
- 2025 Season: 52 IP | 22.4 K-BB%, 16.1 SwStr%, 32.9 CSW% | 2.77 ERA, 1.15 WHIP
- This Week: 6 1/3 IP | 8 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.42 ERA, 0.95 WHIP
- Notes: Daniel Eagen is an underrated arm who continues to break out. He’s ready for a promotion.
- 2025 Season: 53 IP | 21.1 K-BB%, 15.6 SwStr%, 35.8 CSW% | 3.57 ERA, 1.25 WHIP
- This Week: 7 IP | 8 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.29 ERA, 0.57 WHIP
- Notes: Blake money has a great name and has been dominant on a swinging strike basis. He has a huge 6-foot-7, 240-pound frame and was on the LSU National Championship team. He doesn’t have big velocity, but he’s made it work this year.
- 2025 Season: 51 1/3 IP | 25.4 K-BB%, 14.8 SwStr%, 31.7 CSW% | 2.81 ERA, 1.13 WHIP
- This Week: 4 2/3 IP | 7 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.93 ERA, 0.64 WHIP
- Notes: Sean Linan was on fire at A Ball to start the season, but was oddly moved straight from A Ball to AAA and got rocked before moving back down to High-A, where now he is on a natural progression.
A Hitters
35. Eduardo Quintero (OF – LAD)
- 2024 CPX/A: .285/.419/.394 | 17.1 BB%, 19.4 K% | 19 XBH, 3 HR, 32 SB (83 games)
- 2025 A: .322/.433/.584 | 15.9 BB%, 24.2 K% | 29 XBH, 11 HR, 33 SB
- This Week: 6/17 | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 6 SB
- Age: 19
- ETA: Late 2026
- fScore: N/A
- Comp: Shades of Wander Franco as an outfielder with less power and more speed
- Prime Skills: Eduardo Quintero has fantastic plate skills (only a 19.4% chase rate last year) and is a heck of an athlete. Quintero has a killer hit tool with a knack for barreling the ball and brings a ton of athleticism to the plate. He’s taken it to another level this season from a power and speed angle, performing at a now elite level.
- Player Notes: Quintero has been insane this entire year, but six steals this week show the speed is at least plus, and the 55 grade FanGraphs gave him is likely too low.
Cristian Santana (1B, DH – LAD)
- Season: .228/.383/.480 | 17.5 BB% / 29.2 K% | 13 XBH, 9 HR, 3 SB
- This Week: 6/21 | 5 XBH, 5 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: I saw Cristian Santana in person this weekend and saw him hit two home runs. He has a quick, short swing with some massive pull power. Those homers were not cheap, and Jupiter is a tough place to hit. He’s 21 years old, but this might be the start of a breakout. His power is legit.
A Pitchers
- 2025 Season: 25 1/3 IP | 26.9 K-BB%, 14.6 SwStr%, 32.3 CSW% | 3.91 ERA, 1.03 WHIP
- This Week: 3 IP | 6 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
- Notes: Three perfect innings for Kash Mayfield. He’s had some good stuff, but needs to build up to go deeper into games.
- 2025 Season: 51 2/3 IP | 13.6 K-BB%, 16.8 SwStr%, 33.2 CSW% | 2.96 ERA, 1.32 WHIP
- This Week: 5 2/3 IP | 12 Ks, 3 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.71 WHIP
- Notes: Braden Davis has some killer secondaries, but the fastball is only low-90s, and he has erratic command. I’ve seen him twice this year, and the breaking stuff is undeniably good as his change-up has a 30.9% SwStr% and the slider/cutter combo run average to plus swinging strike rates.
- Rookie League Hitters
Wilder Dalis (SS – COL)
- Season: .290/.382/.505 | 11.5 BB% / 22.1 K% | 12 XBH, 2 HR, 6 SB (30 games)
- This Week: 5/14 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
- Notes: Wilder Dalis is an interesting name to watch with increased power this year, as he’s increased his launch angles.
DSL Hitters
- Season: .333/.590/.708 | 33.3 BB% / 30.8 K% | 3 XBH, 3 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 7/13 | 3 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: It’s a small sample size, but Eduardo Herrera was mashing this week.
