Closer News & Notes

Robert Suarez maintains his MLB lead with 34 saves. Carlos Estevez is right behind him with 33 saves. Trevor Megill and Andres Munoz follow as the only other closers with at least 30 saves on the season.

Jhoan Duran suffered his first blown save since being traded to the Phillies. He is still one of the top closers in fantasy baseball moving forward.

Bryan Abreu has tossed 8.2 scoreless innings across eight appearances in August. He remains the primary closer in the Astros’ bullpen with Josh Hader sidelined. Houston also placed Bennett Sousa on the injured list (IL).

Kenley Jansen is reportedly managing rib discomfort. His status will be one to monitor over the weekend into next week.

The Dodgers activated Tanner Scott from the IL on Friday. They are also expected to activate Kirby Yates on Saturday.

Felix Bautista underwent surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff earlier this week. He is officially out for the season.
