3 Fantasy Football Trades to Propose Week 6 (2025)

Welcome to another week of fantasy football trades to propose. I want to start this week’s article with a disclaimer: Although I usually stick to simple, one-for-one trade suggestions, trades like that are usually very difficult to pull off in competitive leagues.

This is especially true of one-for-one trades featuring two players at the same position. Barring outlier circumstances (if one of the players is injured, for example), a trade like this is guaranteed to end up a loss for one of the two parties involved. The zero-sum nature of these trades makes them less likely to actually happen — nobody wants to lose a trade.

With this in mind, I recommend viewing the simplified proposals in this article as building blocks or inspiration for your real-life trades. Start from these suggestions, but do your best to find ways to propose trades that, at least theoretically, can end up as wins for both sides. With this in mind, here are my proposals for Week 6.

3 Fantasy Football Trades to Propose Week 6

Derrick Henry (RB – BAL) for Rome Odunze (WR – CHI)

As always, this week’s article will rely heavily on FantasyCalc.com, which scrapes data from real leagues to provide both trade values and a list of the most commonly traded players. This week, the most commonly traded player is the king himself, Derrick Henry. As much as it pains me to say it, I think jumping on the sell train for Henry is probably the right move at this point.

The thing is, Henry is still being valued as an elite fantasy asset right now. He is the 23rd overall player on FantasyCalc, two spots ahead of Rome Odunze. This is because many fantasy managers likely view Henry’s early-season struggles as temporary, due to end when Lamar Jackson returns and/or the Ravens’ defense gets healthy.

Unfortunately, I’m not convinced Henry’s struggles are entirely situational. After literally leading the league in Pro Football Focus (PFF) rush grade last season, he currently ranks 56th out of 58 qualified backs. While the dropoff isn’t as steep in every metric, they all tell the same story: Henry was arguably the best rusher in the league in 2024, and he hasn’t been close to the same back so far in 2025.

While Henry is trending down, Odunze is trending rapidly up. The ninth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft had a mediocre rookie season, but he has dominated to start 2025. He is the WR4 in half-PPR points per game, seeing elite usage with a 25% target share and a 42% air yards share in the Bears’ offense. Even if Henry bounces back as things improve for Baltimore, you certainly won’t regret adding Odunze to your roster.

Chase Brown (RB – CIN) for D’Andre Swift (RB – CHI) + A Little Extra

A.J. Brown is actually second to Derrick Henry in trade volume for this week, but I have covered the Eagles’ No. 1 WR multiple times before. Instead, let’s talk about another [Chase] Brown, as the Bengals’ No. 1 RB is third in terms of trade interest for this week. Unfortunately, just as with Henry, I think it is time to sell low on the highly drafted back.

Similar to Henry, Brown’s fantasy value is falling for more than just the obvious reasons. Losing Joe Burrow has massively hurt the Bengals’ offense, which has tanked Brown’s fantasy production. We’re not going to be sneaking that fact by any manager with a pulse. However, what’s flying under the radar is that Brown’s usage is also trending in the wrong direction.

In Weeks 1 and 2, Brown handled all 37 of the Bengals’ running back rushes. A 100% running back rush share is essentially unheard of in this day and age, but for Brown, this was just picking up where he left off in 2024. He also played 71% of the team’s snaps, with Samaje Perine mostly mixing in for pass-blocking duties. Over the last three weeks, Brown has seen just 67% of the Bengals’ running back rushes on a 60% snap share. That’s still solid usage, but it’s not the truly elite workload he saw to close 2024 and to start 2025. Perine has seen some carries, and even rookie Tahj Brooks has been involved.

With this trend, Brown is just a replacement-level back seeing great-but-not-elite usage on one of the league’s worst offenses (no, I don’t think Joe Flacco is going to save him). So why don’t we flip him for a replacement-level back who is seeing great-but-not-elite usage on an above-average offense? Enter D’Andre Swift, who is 13 spots lower than his running back counterpart in FantasyCalc’s rankings. I’m not going to argue that Swift is some elite fantasy asset, but he’s at least a usable RB2 each week, which is more than can be said for Brown.

Whatever You Can for Jacory Croskey-Merritt (RB – WSH)

OK, maybe don’t trade literally whatever you can for the seventh-round rookie. But this is your last chance to trade for Jacory Croskey-Merritt while he is still a fringe top-50 asset. In fact, we might already be too late after he exploded for 26 points in Week 5. But if your league’s lucky Croskey-Merritt manager still views him as a Flex option in a committee, take advantage.

Croskey-Merritt has clearly had the juice all season. He leads the league in PFF rush grade, rushing yards over expected per attempt and good old-fashioned yards per carry. Now, he has the role to go with the juice. He played over half of Washington’s offensive snaps in Week 5 for the first time all season. Croskey-Merritt also easily led the team with 14 carries. Chris Rodriguez, who had previously been seeing roughly equal work, had just five, all on the team’s final drive of the game.

Despite dealing with injuries and being fairly inefficient, Brian Robinson Jr. finished 2024 as the RB28 in half-PPR points per game. Croskey-Merritt has infinitely more juice than Robinson did, and he will likely actually see a better role — Jeremy McNichols will not command as many touches as Austin Ekeler did. Croskey-Merritt is already a clear RB2, but he has legit RB1 upside. That’s a profile worth paying up for.
