Week 5 is here, so it’s time to build some NFL DFS cash game lineups.
Remember, when playing cash games, you want to target players with a nice combination of floor and ceiling. If there is a “free square” on the board, that is: A significantly underpriced player thrust into a huge bump in usage, then you can play them without thinking about how popular they’ll be among the field.
With that in mind, read on to learn more about my favorite DFS cash game picks for Week 5. We’ll provide pricing from both FanDuel and DraftKings for these picks. I’ll keep it tight, with two picks for each position.

Week 5 NFL DFS Cash Game Advice & Picks
The players below are the ones I’m looking at for NFL DFS cash game considerations this week.
Quarterbacks
Justin Herbert is in a great spot at home against a Commanders defense that just got picked apart by Michael Penix Jr. With Herbert playing at an MVP level, expect him to take full advantage of this great spot in an indoor environment. The Chargers’ star quarterback is a better play on DraftKings, but still usable in both formats.
Justin Fields is in a smash spot at home against a Cowboys defense that has given up a ton of production to Jordan Love, Caleb Williams and Russell Wilson this season. This is a projected shootout with one of the highest totals on the slate. Don’t be surprised if Fields gives us another spike week here.
Running Backs
With Tyreek Hill now out for the season, expect De’Von Achane to be the absolute focal point of the Dolphins’ offense. That puts him in a great spot for huge production against a Panthers defense that got gashed by Travis Etienne earlier this season. Expect 100+ total yards with a good chance at a touchdown.
Breece Hall (RB – NYJ) vs. DAL | DraftKings: $5,600/FanDuel: $7,000
I’m good with taking another Jet in cash lineups, this time Breece Hall. With Braelon Allen placed on injured reserve (IR), we can feel more comfortable about Hall’s usage in the red zone, giving him a better chance at scoring a touchdown. Add in the fact that it’s a projected high-scoring game, and you have to like this game environment.
Wide Receivers
Jaxon Smith-Njigba has taken his game to another level this year, catching 26 of his 34 targets for 402 yards and a touchdown. This is a player who has racked up 70+ yards in each of his four games, including 95+ in three matchups. With the Seahawks facing a pass-funnel Buccaneers defense, we could see a spike week from Smith-Njigba.
What a season Garrett Wilson is having so far, racking up 27 catches for 311 yards and three touchdowns. Up next is a smash spot against the Cowboys, who have given up big games to Romeo Doubs, Rome Odunze and Malik Nabers. We could see Wilson eclipse 100 yards with a score in this one.
Tight Ends
Trey McBride has been dependable so far, but we haven’t seen him hit his ceiling just yet. There’s a reasonable chance that could change against the Titans, especially since both James Conner and Trey Benson are out. That could mean the Cardinals lean on their passing game a bit more than usual.
Tyler Warren is living up to the hype as a rookie, catching 19 of his 27 targets for 263 yards. He’s also added a rushing touchdown. You have to like Warren’s chances at another big game in a projected high-scoring affair versus the Raiders. We’re getting a terrific price on DraftKings at $4,700.
