Dynasty Fantasy Football Risers

TreVeyon Henderson (RB – NE)

With Rhamondre Stevenson out for the second straight week, TreVeyon Henderson parlayed his momentum from the last couple of weeks into a big game on Sunday. It was a glimpse into the upside and home run ability we envisioned for Henderson, as he took 14 carries for 147 yards and two scores.

Not only was Stevenson absent from this game, but Terrell Jennings left with an injury, further opening the door for Henderson. Despite the increase in snaps, Henderson was relatively quiet until ripping off a 55-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, followed by a 69-yard scamper in the fourth quarter.

The inefficiencies outside of the two big plays are a concern, but seeing the big-play ability come to fruition is a breath of fresh air for Henderson’s fantasy stock. Ideally, this will pave the way for a second-half breakout from the rookie running back.

Theo Johnson (TE – NYG)

With seven receptions for 75 yards on his eight targets, Theo Johnson posted career highs in each category. The second-year tight end has been a terrific re-zone threat for the Giants, but he’s beginning to make an impact between the 20s.

Johnson’s 14.5 PPR fantasy points were his third-most this season and mark the fifth game he’s surpassed 10 fantasy points after doing so just twice last season. From Week 4 onward, Johnson is the TE11 in points per game (PPG) and has an opportunity to establish himself as a go-to option thanks to the Giants’ thin group of pass-catchers.

Tez Johnson (WR – TB)

With Mike Evans and Chris Godwin missing time, Emeka Egbuka has become Baker Mayfield‘s top target, but fellow rookie Tez Johnson has been quietly showing out. As the week’s WR9 going into Monday, Johnson posted 20.2 fantasy points on four grabs for 42 yards and two touchdowns.

Johnson has now caught four touchdown passes across his last four games, and he’s hit at least 9.3 points and 42 yards in each of his last five games. The long-term outlook of this group is uncertain outside of Egbuka, with Evans and Godwin aging and facing injury concerns, while Jalen McMillan continues his recovery from a fractured neck. Johnson is making a strong bid to maintain a role in the offense.

Jaylen Waddle (WR – MIA)

I wrote about Jaylen Waddle as a riser after Week 5, his first game following Tyreek Hill‘s injury. Outside of a dud in Week 7 with an inept performance from the Dolphins’ entire offense, he’s been tremendous since then.

On Sunday, Waddle went for 84 yards and a score, catching five out of seven targets and posting 19.4 fantasy points. Even with the low of 2.5 points in week 7, Waddle is the WR15 since Hill went down. He has the ninth-most receiving yards this season and is posting the 11th-best yards per route run rate at 2.44.

Jaxson Dart (QB – NYG)

Despite missing the entire fourth quarter, Jaxson Dart is the current fantasy QB3 with 26.28 fantasy points. It feels as though Dart continues to improve every week, and he was outdueling Caleb Williams in this one before his concussion. He finished the day completing 19-of-29 passes for 242 yards, but it was his six rushes for 66 yards and two scores that aided his strong fantasy line.

It was Dart’s fifth game in a row of at least 19.42 points, a total he has cleared in all but one of his seven starts. He’s topped 50 yards rushing in five of his seven starts and has tallied seven rushing scores during that time. Dart looks like a hit for the Giants as their franchise quarterback, and he looks more like a fantasy stud each week.

Juwan Johnson (TE – NO)

In the midst of a breakout campaign, Juwan Johnson has been on a heater over the past few weeks. He notched a career-high 92 receiving yards on Sunday while finding the end zone once en route to 19.2 fantasy points, the third-most among tight ends this week (pending Monday Night Football).

Johnson has topped double-digit points four weeks in a row and in seven out of his 10 games this season. He’s up to TE12 in PPG this season, and with Rashid Shaheed out the door, Johnson should continue to be utilized heavily in the Saints’ offense.

Tyler Allgeier (RB – ATL)

Tyler Allgeier was a wrecking ball on Sunday, rushing 11 times for 57 yards and two touchdowns, good for 17.7 fantasy points. His upside is limited playing with Bijan Robinson, but he’s carved out stand-alone value and will be a free agent this offseason.

Allgeier has earned himself a starting gig somewhere and is a good buy for dynasty managers looking ahead.

Mac Jones (QB – SF)

Another upcoming free agent, Mac Jones has been dealing for the 49ers with Brock Purdy missing time. We’ve seen what Sam Darnold did with a brief pit stop in San Francisco with Kyle Shanahan, but Jones is actually seeing the field and delivering results.

Jones threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday, producing 23.06 fantasy points. If you’re rebuilding a Superflex team, it’s worth offloading a helpful player to a contender with an eye towards next year, when Jones is likely to get a look as a starter from several teams.

Dynasty Fantasy Football Fallers

Justin Fields (QB – NYJ)

For as little faith as we all had in Justin Fields becoming a legitimate starting NFL quarterback, many of us liked his fantasy football outlook this season and had hopes he could maintain a job long enough to hold real dynasty value.

That dream seems to be melting faster than an ice cream cone in a dessert. As if the drama surrounding his status as the starter wasn’t enough, Fields’ 54 yards passing on Sunday didn’t help.

Garrett Wilson (WR – NYJ)

Still a Jet.

Christian Kirk (WR – HOU)

Not only did Christian Kirk post an abysmal stat line of one catch for three yards, but he also saw a snap share of just 55% this week. In prior games, Kirk has hit at least 69% when he’s been healthy.

The missed time from Kirk and Nico Collins allowed Xavier Hutchinson and rookies Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins to add reps, which they made good on. It appears the Texans are looking to get the younger receivers more involved, and we may be seeing Kirk’s playing time decline on a more permanent basis.

Rashod Bateman (WR – BAL)

Last season, Rashod Bateman posted his best season as a pro, going for 756 yards and nine touchdowns. After inking a three-year extension with the Ravens, there was some optimism that Bateman could build upon that season.

We know the Baltimore offense struggled without Lamar Jackson, but Bateman has been a no-show no matter who is under center. After catching one pass for 10 yards on Sunday, he’s pacing towards a season total of 366 yards and a few touchdowns, and is averaging just 24 yards per game with Jackson under center this season.

Dyami Brown (WR – JAX)

With the Jaguars handing Dyami Brown a sizeable contract this past offseason, it felt as though Brown would have a golden opportunity to build on his late-season breakout with the Commanders. Instead, Brown has been mostly absent from the game plan, week in and week out.

On top of that, the Jaguars went out and acquired Jakobi Meyers to team up with Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter. With Thomas and Hunter both out of the lineup this week, Parker Washington and newcomer Meyers were featured in the offense, with Brown drawing just one target.
