Fantasy Football Injuries to Know for Week 11

Chris Godwin (WR – TB)

Chris Godwin (fibula) logged a limited practice on Thursday.

Chris Godwin is highly unlikely to return in Week 11, but the fact that he was able to get in limited practices this week is encouraging. There’s a reasonable chance Godwin will be back in action next week, which would be a major boost to the Buccaneers’ passing game. While we should temper our expectations, the time to stash Godwin is now.

Bucky Irving (RB – TB)

Bucky Irving (shoulder/foot) got in a limited practice on Thursday.

Bucky Irving has surprisingly returned to practice. This comes after reports that there was no timetable for his return. There’s an outside chance Irving can get back in action for a big game against the Bills in Week 11. I’d bet against that, but he’s likely back for Week 12. Once Irving returns, you can safely fire him up as a top-12 option.

Khalil Shakir (WR – BUF)

Khalil Shakir (ankle/ribs) was limited in practice on Thursday.

Khalil Shakir was practicing in a non-contact jersey, which puts his status in doubt for Week 11 against the Bucs. With Dalton Kincaid also unlikely to play, we’re likely to see Keon Coleman take on a more prominent role in this passing game. I like starting Coleman as a boom-or-bust WR3 in a favorable matchup.

DJ Moore (WR – CHI)

DJ Moore (shoulder) returned to practice on Thursday.

DJ Moore looks likely to play against the Vikings this week, fresh off a catch-less game against the Giants. It’s hard to trust Moore as a viable fantasy option (outside of WR4-type value) while he’s essentially used as a gadget player underneath. You basically need him to find the end zone for a spike week, as the volume hasn’t been there this season.

C.J. Stroud (QB – HOU)

C.J. Stroud (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 11.

C.J. Stroud is going to miss another game due to a concussion. We saw Davis Mills do a better job of getting Nico Collins the ball, so perhaps this isn’t exactly a bad thing for fantasy football. However, it wouldn’t surprise me to see the Titans upset the Texans coming off their bye. After all, Mills is a backup for a reason.

Rashod Bateman (WR – BAL)

Rashod Bateman (ankle) missed practice on Thursday.

Rashod Bateman has been unable to get in a practice so far this week, putting his status in doubt for Week 11 against the Browns. With that said, Bateman has been a non-factor in fantasy this season, so you weren’t starting him anyway. However, Bateman’s absence could result in more looks than usual for Zay Flowers, making it notable.

Lamar Jackson (QB – BAL)

Lamar Jackson (knee) returned to practice on Thursday.

Lamar Jackson was able to get back to practice on Thursday after being held out on Wednesday. However, it’s worth noting that he’s on the injury report, which means we could see him run less than usual. Since returning to action, Jackson has combined for only 50 rushing yards in two games.

Sam LaPorta (TE – DET)

Sam LaPorta (back) missed practice on Thursday.

Sam LaPorta has now missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday, making it likely he’ll be forced to miss Week 11 against the Eagles. If that happens, we could see Jameson Williams continue to have more of a role in the passing game. We’ve seen Williams score a touchdown in consecutive weeks, so fire him up with confidence.
