Fantasy Football Panic Meter (2025)

We’re now heading into Week 13 of the 2025 NFL season. It’s almost the trade deadline in most leagues, so you’re nearly out of time to improve your roster.

In this article, we’re going to take a look at five players who got off to hot starts but have cooled off considerably. This has sparked some debate on where they stand in the rest-of-season fantasy football rankings.

With that in mind, find out who I’m panicking on after Week 12.

Fantasy Football Panic Meter: Week 12

Drake Maye (QB – NE)

I’m not taking away from what Drake Maye has been doing from a real-life perspective. He is a certified MVP candidate. However, when we look at his production through a fantasy lens, you can’t help but be underwhelmed lately.

Since Week 9, Maye is averaging 17.2 fantasy points per game, which ranks as the QB12 during that span. While I’m not panicking too much, perhaps we have to temper expectations a bit moving forward. Hopefully, Maye can get back on track in a good matchup versus the Giants in Week 13. The problem is that this could be a game where the Patriots just run all over this weak run defense.

Verdict: 5 out of 10 on the Panic Meter

Baker Mayfield (QB – TB)

Baker Mayfield is currently averaging 17.2 fantasy points per game, which ranks as QB15. Since Week 7, Mayfield is averaging 12.5 fantasy points per game (PPG), good for QB31 during this span.

Now banged up with a shoulder injury that casts doubt on his Week 13 availability, it’s time to leave Mayfield on your bench if he’s able to play.

Verdict: 10 out of 10 on the Panic Meter

Emeka Egbuka (WR – TB)

Emeka Egbuka has slowed down considerably after a blistering start to his NFL career. Since Week 6, Egbuka has been putting up only eight fantasy points per game, which ranks as the WR44.

With Mayfield injured and Chris Godwin taking over slot usage, Egbuka is now more of a volatile play in fantasy. It’s completely justifiable to panic about this talented rookie right now.

Verdict: 7 out of 10 on the Panic Meter

FantasyPros Start/Sit Assistant

Bijan Robinson (RB – ATL)

Bijan Robinson has registered 13.9 PPG (RB15) since Week 8. While he’s one of the most talented running backs in the NFL, it’s time to consistently rank him firmly behind the likes of Jahmyr Gibbs, Jonathan Taylor, Christian McCaffrey and De’Von Achane.

Tyler Allgeier has been more of a nuisance to Robinson’s fantasy value than initially expected. For that reason, we need to temper our expectations moving forward.

Verdict: 5 out of 10 on the Panic Meter

Ricky Pearsall (WR – SF)

Ricky Pearsall has been a complete non-factor since returning from injury, combining for only three catches for six yards in two games.

It’s a crowded group in San Francisco, with Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle and even Jauan Jennings ahead of Pearsall in the pecking order. Be sure to bench Pearsall until he shows signs of life.

Verdict: 8 out of 10 on the Panic Meter
