NBA DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Primer
As of the writing of this article, here is the fantasy-relevant injury report for all 12 teams in Sunday’s slate:
NBA DFS Core Plays
- DraftKings: $10,200
- FanDuel: $9,700
10k is a hefty price to pay with a 50k or 60k lineup limit. However, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Cade Cunningham are the most expensive players on the board, and Tyrese Maxey has been able to match, if not surpass, their fantasy production all season long.
The Sixers also face the Detroit Pistons today, who have one of the worst defenses in the league so far this season. Consider Maxey as a core play today – he’s usually worth the hefty price tag.
- DraftKings: $9,200
- FanDuel: $9,000
The Orlando Magic just played the Boston Celtics on Friday. Banchero stuffed the stat sheet in that game with 15 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and a block in 36 minutes. Look for him to find a similar rhythm in today’s matchup against the NBA’s worst defense this season.
Other players to consider in this price range are Jalen Brunson, Ja Morant and Karl-Anthony Towns, but be warned – the blowout potential in the Knicks game is extremely high with a 15.5 point spread.
NBA DFS Cash Game Targets
- DraftKings: $10,500
- FanDuel: $10,200
Cade Cunningham has averaged 18 points, 5.5 assists and 5 rebounds in his career against the 76ers up to this point. This matchup also figures to be a high-scoring one with an O/U of 232.5, and the blowout potential seems to be low with the Pistons favored at -3.5.
While the price tag is higher, Cade Cunningham should be in all lineups to help get you into the top half of the leaderboard in a cash game competition.
- DraftKings: $8,200
- FanDuel: $8,600
While Paolo Banchero stuffed the stat sheet against the Celtics on Friday, Jaylen Brown posted a solid stat line of his own with 32 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal. Brown will likely be relied on heavily in the scoring department once again, but this time try to get his team in the win column at home.
He should be heavily rostered in most DFS lineups today, as he comes at a cheaper price than many of the other core picks.

NBA DFS GPP Targets
- DraftKings: $5,800
- FanDuel: $4,300
There is a reason for the price disparity on Moses Moody across the two featured betting apps. In a game against the Kings without Steph on Wednesday, Moody exploded with 28 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 4 blocks in 39 minutes. This was followed up by a 2-point effort on Friday, where he shot just 1-9 from the field.
If Steph Curry remains sidelined tonight, Moses Moody is the perfect high-risk/high-reward play in the Warriors lineup.
- DraftKings: $4,800
- FanDuel: $4,200
Isaiah Joe comes cheap in DFS lineups tonight, but has an opportunity to contribute here again with the Thunder injuries in a fast-paced matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies. Joe has at least 10 three-point attempts in 3 out of his last 4 games, but his numbers have been very up and down. Also, Joe added 6 rebounds to his stat line on Friday against the Kings, but typically does not do much else in the box score.
If the Thunder blow out the Grizzlies (10.5 point spread) and Isaiah Joe can connect on his three-point attempts, he’s a great high-risk play for DFS today.

NBA DFS Value Plays
- DraftKings: $5,300
- FanDuel: $5,500
The Brooklyn Nets are just an easy team to pick on for DFS players, as they have frequently been blown out this season and have only won one game so far. Hart has played at least 25+ minutes in all but two games this season and should maintain this role off the bench against the struggling Nets.
Hart’s lower cost could pay off for DFS players today as he’s been on a hot streak with excellent shooting percentages and rebounding numbers in each of his last 3 games.
- DraftKings: $4,500
- FanDuel: $4,800
There is a lot to like about Anthony Black today, as he has a very similar role to Josh Hart in terms of his contributions off the bench for the Orlando Magic. In the recent game against the Celtics on Friday, Black added 13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals to the team’s winning effort in 33 minutes.
While he has not been the most consistent to start the season, Black’s value could become apparent here again, with the poorly rated Celtics defense being the only thing standing in his way.
