It’s almost time for the MLB season once again, and with that, the fantasy baseball season. Here, I’ll be doing a fantasy baseball mock draft using FantasyPros’ Draft Wizard tool.
This draft is from a late-round pick point of view. I’ll be drafting from the No. 11 spot in a 12-team, head-to-head, traditional 5×5 categories league. The positions include the following: 1-C, 1-1B, 1-2B, 1-3B, 1-SS, 3-OF, 1-UTIL, 5-Pitchers, 3-Bench. See the full mock draft here.
Fantasy Baseball Mock Draft
1.11: Julio Rodriguez (OF – SEA)
Julio Rodriguez is coming off a great fantasy season, hitting .267 with 32 home runs, 95 RBI and 30 stolen bases. He’ll cover all five categories.
2.02: Gunnar Henderson (SS – BAL)
Gunnar Henderson’s home run numbers dipped in 2025, but he was dealing with a shoulder injury for most of the season. If he can get back to his 2024 status, finishing fourth in American League MVP voting with 37 home runs and 21 stolen bases, he will cover all five categories.
3.11: Bryce Harper (1B – PHI)
It was close between Bryce Harper and Matt Olson, but I lean slightly toward Harper because he should steal more bases than Olson. Yes, Olson will play more games, so there’s more potential there, but they had fairly similar numbers despite Olson playing more games last season.
4.02: Manny Machado (3B – SD)
Manny Machado will be a steady third baseman in this format, with solid power numbers and perhaps a dozen steals.
5.11: Freddy Peralta (SP – MIL)
Freddy Peralta’s name is hot on the trade market, and if he goes anywhere, he’ll be a top arm in the rotation. Peralta had — by far — the best season of his career last year, going 17-6 with a 2.70 ERA across 176.2 innings with a K/9 of 10.4.
6.02: George Kirby (SP – SEA)
George Kirby dealt with some injuries last year, but if he can stay healthy, he’ll be a consistent presence on the Mariners’ staff.
7.11: Kyle Bradish (SP – BAL)
Kyle Bradish had just six starts last year, but he was solid across the board with a fantastic 13.2 K/9. I’ll take a chance on him staying healthy.
8.02: Nick Pivetta (SP – SD)
I’m a bit concerned about some positive regression with Nick Pivetta, who had a much better HR/9 last year. His 2.87 ERA was by far the lowest of his career. I was between him and Tyler Glasnow, and considering Glasnow gets hurt often, I’ll take a swing on Pivetta.
9.11: Nico Hoerner (2B – CHC)
Nico Hoerner won’t wow you with power, but he’ll continue to hit .290 or better and steal around 30 bases. He’s a reliable second baseman.
10.02: Kyle Stowers (OF – MIA)
Kyle Stowers was phenomenal across 117 games and 399 at-bats. He hit .288 and popped 25 home runs. I’ll take a chance on him here.
11.11: Shane Bieber (SP – TOR)
Shane Bieber returned from Tommy John surgery last year. I’m hoping that between the brief time back and spring training reps, he’ll be fully ready to go.
12.02: Jo Adell (OF – LAA)
Jo Adell isn’t going to be all too consistent, but if he pops off for 37 home runs again, I can forgive him a bit.
13.11: Matt Chapman (3B – SF)
We all know what Matt Chapman is going to do — hit 20-25 home runs and record 70-75 RBI. I’ll take it.
14.02: Adley Rutschman (C – BAL)
Adley Rutschman dealt with oblique injuries last season, but when healthy, he’ll flirt with 20 home runs and around 75 RBI.
15.11: Alec Burleson (1B, OF – STL)
Alec Burleson is a consistent hitter who will probably hit about 20 home runs again. I also like that he can play first base and the outfield.
16.02: Shota Imanaga (SP – CHC)
I’m a bit worried that MLB hitters have figured out Shota Imanaga, but he was also dealing with hamstring issues last season.
17.11: Luis Garcia (2B – WSH)
Luis Garcia is just 25, and while he had a down year compared to 2024, I expect Garcia to bounce back.
Draft Wizard Insights
When the draft was all said and done, I was given a B grade (84/100), and that’s fair. I did go too early on starting pitching with Freddy Peralta in the fifth, but that’s why we do these mock drafts.
