Closer News & Notes
- One week into the season, David Bednar leads the MLB with three saves.
- Carlos Estevez was placed on the 15-day injured list (IL) with a left foot contusion. Lucas Erceg will settle into the closer role for now in the Royals’ bullpen.
- The Rays placed Garrett Cleavinger on the IL with right calf tightness. They remain in a committee situation with Griffin Jax struggling to start the season.
- Josh Hader (biceps) is continuing to ramp up, but he has yet to be cleared to face live hitters.
