Smash Spots
Nathan Eovaldi (SP – TEX) vs. LAA
Nathan Eovaldi has been absolutely on fire for the Rangers lately. He’s racked up nine strikeouts in each of his last three outings. Up next is a smash spot at home against a strikeout-prone Angels lineup.
Eury Perez (SP – MIA) vs. CLE
Eury Perez has looked sharp in his return from injury, despite some tough matchups at Coors Field and against the Athletics. He should have an even better outing at home versus the Guardians.
Roki Sasaki (SP – LAD) vs. COL
Roki Sasaki has fallen on hard times in his recent outings, but you have to love the spot at home versus the Rockies. This could be a game where he records seven or more strikeouts.
Risky Starts
Gavin Williams (SP – CLE) @ MIN
Gavin Williams has been quite inefficient lately, which makes him a risky play against a pesky Twins lineup. It wouldn’t be a shock to see him make a short outing in this one.
Gage Jump (SP – ATH) @ CWS
Gage Jump let us down in a two-start week against the Dodgers and the Marlins. It’s tough to trust him against the White Sox, but we’ve also seen his upside.
Gerrit Cole (SP – NYY) @ TBR
Gerrit Cole is coming off a rock-solid outing against the Twins, but the Rays have an underrated lineup that puts a lot of balls in play, making this a risky play.
Two-Start Pitchers
Max Meyer (SP – MIA) vs. SEA, vs. CLE
Max Meyer is having a breakout season for the Marlins. He’s got a lot of strikeout upside, especially in great matchups at home against the Mariners and the Guardians.
Taj Bradley (SP – MIN) vs. CLE, vs. LAA
Taj Bradley should turn in a pair of quality outings at home against the Guardians and the Angels. These are matchups in which he can record at least seven strikeouts.
Landen Roupp (SP – SFG) vs. COL, vs. TOR
Landen Roupp is coming off a poor outing against the Diamondbacks, but he should get back on track at home against the Rockies and the Blue Jays.
