Ty Buttrey implodes at Coors Field, suffers blown save

by Lucas Spence | Mariners Correspondent | Sat, Sep 12th 1:14am EDT

Angels reliever Ty Buttrey was called on for a save opportunity on Friday night with the Angels leading 4-3 entering the bottom of the ninth inning. After inducing a fly-out to Matt Kemp, Buttrey served up a game-tying solo home run to Ryan McMahon. Buttrey then gave up a double and an intentional walk before being removed from the game. The Angels would lose three batters later on a walk-off grand slam by Charlie Blackmon.

Fantasy Impact:

Buttrey suffered his fourth blown save of the season, falling to 1-3, and watching his ERA climb to 6.04 in the process after being charged with three earned runs on Friday night. Buttrey has now given up 3 ER in three of his past six appearances and can not be relied upon by the Angels or fantasy owners at this juncture.
