Daniel Mengden fans two in first start since 2020 Thursday

Daniel Mengden pitched 2 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out two in Kansas City’s 7-1 loss to the White Sox on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact:
Mengden started for the first time this season against the White Sox but failed to make it out of the 3rd inning. Mengden falls to 0-1 with a 5.14 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, and eight strikeouts in seven innings across five appearances this season. The start was the 49th of Mengden’s career but the first since 2020 with the Oakland Athletics. Mengden was one of Kansas City’s September call-ups after mainly pitching for Triple-A Omaha this season.
